  1. Based on this game thread, Hauffpauir, Cedeno, and Murton all should go to AAA. So, who can we replace them with?
  2. Damn! We needed to put the ball in play there.
  3. There's a run! Deep fly will tie this mofo!
  4. Damn! I thought Soto got all of that one.
  5. This could be good news. I'm cauitously optimistic.
  6. Along with almost everyone else in the line-up tonight, right?
  7. Bases juiced for Ramirez... and Kazmir is done.
  8. Murton is doing sooo much worse than the other Cubs hitters tonight...I mean except for him, we're really getting to Kazmir.
  9. This is a frustating game tonight thus far.
  10. Interleague play has lost some of its luster. Surely, the Cubs-White Sox, Yankees-Mets, and Angels-Dodgers still generate a lot of interest. I suppose the same might be said of Rangers-Astros, Giants-A's, and Marlins-Rays to some extent. But the other match-ups aren't that compelling. I guess it's nice for fans in some cities to get to see teams they normally miss, but I wouldn't shed a tear if interleague play was done away with.
  11. I agree. I'm going to keep voting them on my ballot, but I'm adding Theriot to the push!
  12. Holy Crap! 2 outs away from elimination in the CWS, Blake Dean doubles in three runs to give LSU new life and eliminate Rice. I was so pissed most of the game, but that ninth inning was fun to watch. Geaux Tigers!
  13. Aww hell, while we're ruining the game, why not have free substitution so that players can enter and leave the game as long as they go back into the same spot in the line-up.
  14. So, bascially the same stance you took toward Moises?
  15. Time to crank it up, fellas! Voting Update Soto is running away with the catcher's spot. Fukudome and Soriano still top the OF. Lee is second among firstbasemen sitting about 400K behind Berkman. DeRosa is second at his postion but is about a million behind Utley. Ramirez is second at third, about 500K behind Chipper Jones. Theriot is third at SS, but only 150K behind Tejeda. Let's work to keep Soto and Fukudome there. Lee and Ramriez are long shots, but I'm going to keep voting. And who's for trying to put the Riot in at SS????
  16. While under the impression Beltran is having a bad year, I decided to look up his numbers: .273/374/481 with a 126 OPS+. I change my mind. If we could get Beltran for Pie, I'd do the deal even if it meant taking on the contract. His only year since 2001 where he had an OPS+ under 100 was 2005 which was his first year in NY. I think he battled injuries that year. His last three OPS+ counting this year: 150, 126, 126. His stolen base percentage is excellent as well. He's stolen nine bases and only been caught once. Last year he stole 23 and was only caught twice, and in 2006 he stole 18 and was only caught 3 times. While he doesn't put up gaudy SB numbers, he uses his speed well and avoids making mistakes when choosing when to run. He does have a big contract, and maybe the Mets could be persuaded to eat some of it. But Beltran could hit anywhere in the line-up form 1-6 and be an huge lift. He's not our biggest need, and maybe the contract is too burdensome, but if he were out there for the taking, he would make complete the only real hole in the line-up.
