  1. Well as disappointing as that was, at least Litsch threw 19 pitches.
  2. They're showing clips from the throw-back game on the lead-off man if anyone is interested. Also, Bruce Miles is supposed to be a guest.
  3. While Burnett doesn't have the best numbers right now, he has posted an ERA+ over 110 for the past four years dating back to 2004. While he has had some injury concerns, he has been a productive starter and at times a dominant starter. I'd prefer Sabathia. Harden would be next. But if Burnett is out there, I'd have no qualms about trading for him.
  4. I think there's a little more though that Fukudome brings. First, he greatly improves the defense for RF over last season. Now, I'll always take the bat over defense, but Fukudome's defense over Floyd/Jones/Murton/etc from last year is a huge improvement. So, when adding the 10-25 pts of OBP and the small increase in slugging with the huge improvement defensively, Fukudome is a big improvement.
  5. Found this nugget in Bruce's article on the win today. Link I only listened today and didn't watch, but did anyone notice him throwing this pitch? Is it really something that he hasn't thrown before? I only ask, because I was unable to personally watch either of his last two starts. I want to hope and believe he's turning a corner.
  6. I was reading this article in the Washington Post and found this line compelling. The article then goes on to speculate about who is available and focuses on Sabathia. I think it's becoming clear from all the rumors that we will be in the running for someone. Who and at what cost seem to be the only question.
  7. Burnett is third on my wish list behind Sabathia and Harden. He might be the cheapest to acquire however.
  8. No offense to anyone, but I'm hoping the Cubs win a World Series with Bonds so the post Cubs World Series bandwagon won't be so full.
  9. I'm starting to warm to Jimmy. I'm also conscience that Kendall had a little hot streak after arriving last year, so while I hope Edmonds continues this production, I am a bit wary.
  10. I actually like the talent the Brewers have and that is still coming Gamel and LaPorta. So yes I am still following them. Once they get rid of Yost, they will be scary. I'm hoping the Brewers get just a little closer so they will make a shortsighted trade involving one of those in order to get back into the race.
  11. Carpenter is getting his second opinion from Dr. James Andrews. That's never a name you want to hear in regards to your pitcher.
  12. Encarnacion just homered off Papelbon in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game.
  13. My thoughts exactly. And I doubt he'd have much of a price tag given his contract and age. Donnie Veal might be enough to land Ibanez.
  14. Well, I know enough about the Rangers to carry on that persona... :D
  15. Several years ago in Atlanta, my nephew noticed that while watching BP.
  16. They would be getting an ass kicking by the Cubs. No. An asskicking is what the Phillies did to Wellemeyer last night.
  17. Right now, I'd have to admit I was wrong. But Kendall also had a nice hot streak after he arrived last year before becoming mired in suckitude for the remainder of the season.
  18. Thas was fast. I now wish that I hadn't used the last word just to see what other excuse they could have come up with. It's funny that you were suspended because you were'nt pc in your wording. But, it's alright for mods to threaten banning based on opinion/conjecture (i.e. the Cubs are a pretty good team). And I'm pretty sure (though can't say for certain), I've seen much worse there. I should have been more careful though. Not really upset though. You can see how much I've used the account by my 28 posts since April of 2005.
  19. Thas was fast. I now wish that I hadn't used the last word just to see what other excuse they could have come up with. Ranger Bob, is that you? :D . What a tremendous douchebag that Voodoochile is. The big bad mod who thinks it's going to hurt Cubs fans if they get banned from that steaming pile of you know what board. :rotfl: Who me? :D
  20. Thas was fast. I now wish that I hadn't used the last word just to see what other excuse they could have come up with. Link to the thread? http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=102365&page=4
