  1. Who are #3 and #5 in your sig? #3- Danica Patrick. #5-Shania Twain. In case you were curious, I got a slap on the wrist for the cat picture yesterday. I warned you. [-X
  2. The problem with Hoffpauir is that the Cubs aren't happy with his OF defense and with Ward on the team, he doesn't have a spot. Fontenot and Cedeno are middle infielders. The Cubs are going to carry 2 middle infielders on the bench. Unless Micah can learn to play 2b or SS, he's not going to get one of those spots. Murton is here because he's RH. He'll be gone with Soriano or Johnson return.
  3. Link. vance, who the the woman second from the left in your sig? ohmygawd Marissa Miller.
  4. If possible I'd like Gallagher kept out of trade talks including him probably means Marquis stays in rotation. The Indians need something good if they're going to part with Sabathia. The Indians need something that would value over two compensatory picks. Do we have enough to do that without giving up Gallagher? I really don't know.
  5. Yes it would be easier. I've floated Felipe Lopez as a possible bench acquisition. He really hasn't hit this year, and his defense at SS is passable at best. But he's a switch hitter who doesn't have huge career splits. If he replaced Cedeno or Fontenot on the roster then we might could move one or the other out of the way for a bigger bat. I still don't see the team going with less than two back-up middle infielders.
  6. His selection to the Future's Game could increase his perceived value and status, no?

  8. I had that avatar since November or so. I just hadn't found anything I liked better. It will come back in the fall, I'm sure. This one probably won't last forever either.
  9. Front line starter is the biggest need. I'm not sure the others are that big of needs. Though a LH reliever would be nice. I understand your desire for the RH bat on the bench, but when Soriano comes back and Reed Johnson comes back, I don't see a place on the roster for one unless we trim the bullpen by one arm. When Soriano and Johnson come back, our thirteen position players will be: C: Soto, Blanco 1b: Lee, Ward 2b:DeRosa, Fontenot SS:Theriot, Cedeno 3b:Ramirez OF:Soriano, Johnson, Edmonds, Fukudome I guess we could replace Fontenot with a RH bat, but that bat would have to play MI. If we trimmed down to 11 pitchers, you'd have a spot for the bat you're looking for, but with the current roster configuration, I don't see it happening. I think we're going to look for a front-line starter. We might seek a bullpen arm that can go to the back-end that would take Wuertz's or Cotts's spot on the roster. A back-up middle infielder who is more reliable with the bat than Cedeno would be nice, but most of those guys are starters and aren't likely to be available in a trade. I can see why recent events make you want that RH bat, but where on the roster would we put him once everyone is healthy.
  10. Be it C.C. Sabathia , Rich Harden or AJ Burnett I hope Hendry pulls trigger soon, if it waits until the trading deadline we'll have to endure at least four more Marquis starts. I'm assuming of course, that upon a deal for a SP, Marquis is going to be pulled from rotation - its the obvious and smart move. I don't think Hendry can pull the trigger soon. As many people point out, when it comes to trades, it takes two to tango. There may not be any pitcher we'd be happy with that he could pull the trigger now on, and if there is, it's probably in the Randy Wold caliber and not the Sabathia, Harden, Burnett group. If we're going to get Sabathia, it's going to come down to the deadline as Cleveland decides if they are in or out and what's the best possible deal they can get.
  11. Yeah, the reports of AJ being a "douche" are highly exaggerated. For some reason everybody hates him, but during interviews and such, he's just like any other ballplayer. I honestly don't know where the anger started. I don't recall any hatred toward him or issues while in Minnesota although I definitely could be wrong since I focus more on the National League. The first issue(s) I can remember were with his teammates in SF and it seems that those were just blown out of proportion. I think he kicked the trainer in the nuts while in SF.
  12. Castillo has been named to the Future's Game. Link.
  13. The Smokies appear to be a completely different team than the one I watched a couple of weeks ago.
  14. He hasn't signed yet. Those updates are easy. You'll just have to check the Vandy box scores next year.
  15. Marquis should have been given a one-year make good deal. I can't believe that he had other multiple year offers on the table.
  16. Yosh is thanking Marquis for his effort on this day, I'm certain.
