  1. And that's all the Mets get. 2-1 Cardinals heading to the bottom of the 2nd.
  2. Mets get a run on a FC. 2-1. Runner on second with one out.
  3. Ankile with a run HR. :x
  4. Mets have a runner caught stealing and another in a run-down. Pitiful. And now Miles gets a double. Geeze!
  5. I ended up taking the dogs for a walk then came home and took a nap. I think I'll go work out tomorrow.
  6. I agree that if the Brewers decided to go after him, they have the prospects. LaPorta and Gamel are both studs. Gamel however is not going to stick at third. I think he has 27 errors already there this year. He needs to move to LF or 1B and he's not going to move ahead of Braun, Fielder, or LaPorta at those spots. gamel might be able to do 1B. he's literally so bad at 3B that i don't think you can, with any confidence, project him to play a certain position in the future. he might have to be a DH, which obviously the indians can do, but he loses significant value if you go that route. Even as a DH, he has value. His current line in the SL is 383/445/639. In 81 games, he has 28 2b and 15 HR. The kid can hit. The Brewers also have a C on the Stars that has a 335/394/511 line. He'd probably interest the Indians as well. Cole Gillespie might also draw some interest.
  7. The Braves, Angels, Rays, Red Sox, Marlins, Rangers, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers all come to mind. I like the prospects in Milwaukee's organization a bit more than those teams mentioned. Although, I do happen to like some of the Rangers prospects also. If the Rangers wanted him, I'm sure a package built around some of their young hitters like Max Ramirez would be very attractive. I'm not sure if the Rangers will choose to go that route.
  8. What scares me about the Brewers is two of their biggest chips (LaPorta and Gamel) are blocked at the major league level and may be expendable. Both of those are either going to have to play LF or 1B and Milwaukee has Prince and Braun at those spots. Yes, I know Gamel is at 3B right now, but his defense is worse than Braun's was there. So, if the Brewers put Gamel or LaPorta out there in a trade, it will be very hard to match that.
  9. walking the dogs and working out in a dead heat.
  10. Are there any realistic multi-team deals the Cubs could get in on to increase their chances? I don't know. It's not that the Brewers are better matched, they are just stacked in the minor leagues. The Cubs don't have a single prospect with the value of LaPorta and probably not one that comes close to Gamel either. If the Brewers decide to do whatever it takes, they will win this derby. Now, if the Brewers are hesitant to offer the top goods, the Cubs might outbid them. There might be other teams in this derby with more minor league resources than both Mil and the Cubs. That is true. I was just saying I didn't see the Cubs being able to outbid the Brewers. I'd think teams like the Rays, Rangers, and Braves could probably outbid the Cubs as well.
  11. So far only one vote for nap....none for anything else.

  13. I'm going to say it again. If the Brewers go full force for Sabathia, we don't have the resources to compete with what they could conceivably give up.
  14. Ok, I'm sitting at home with nothing to do. My wife is working until 4:40, my daughter went to her "school" today because they were taking a field trip, and I have nothing to do until I go to my nephew's Dixie Youth All-Star game at five. So, help me decide.
  15. Damn. How did Hill go from quality major leaguer to a guy who can't get guys out in Mesa? That's unfathomable.
  16. Regardless of whether Hendry will part with Gallagher or not, if the Brewers decide to make a full court press for Sabathia, I don't think we can outbid them. LaPorta is better than anything we have. Gamel is also probably worth more than any player we could toss in there. If the Brewers would part with a package of Gamel, Salome, and Parra, I just don't think we could compete with that. What we need to hope is that the Brewers stay far enough back that they aren't willing to part with those players for a rental and really only enter the Sabathia sweepstakes from the periphery. Because if the Brewers decide to go all in for Sabathia, we don't have the players to match what they could give up, no matter how strong the desire.

I think he has 27 errors already there this year. He needs to move to LF or 1B and he's not going to move ahead of Braun, Fielder, or LaPorta at those spots. My guess is that Gamel would be the chip used to be the centerpiece of a Sabathia deal if the Brewers decide to play poker. If the Cubs really want to hold on to Gallagher, the cost would be Marshall, Pie, and Ceda with a couple other prospects likely tossed in as well.
  18. Great read. Thanks for posting it.
  19. Vacation? Not exactly. David is on vacation this week, and since I can't make the California run in 4 days by myself, I'm headed to Florida instead. Beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, I guess. I gotcha. I thought you were trying to make the Thursday afternoon game in SF until I saw Tennessee.
  20. The year the game was in Houston, the jerseys were white and brick colored.
  21. Is profanity allowed? **** yes. I'm on my way!
