  1. I find the lady on that Lowe's commercial quite attractive.
  2. im not even cheering against the bears. im cheering for the falcons. there is a difference. It might be small, but there is a difference. It's only a small difference when the teams just played. I do think you should have the right though.
  3. Just changed out of the Randy White jersey to the Owens jersey. Maybe that will shake things up a bit.
  4. While I think it would be wise for Ice not to openly cheer the Bears loss, I do believe he should have the right. If we assume that he can't root against the Bears because it's a "Bears thread", could I then start a thread for every Cowboys game and also outlaw rooting against the Cowboys? Could every fan of every NFL team have the same privledge?
  5. except im on the other side now!!! Seriously, shut up. +1. Seriously. +2 Actively rooting against the Bears... didn't I get a vacation for hoping Theriot's average dropped .001 point? Hmm hope he gets the same punishment. this is not a bears message board. it's a Bears thread actually it's a bears vs falcons thread.
  6. except im on the other side now!!! Seriously, shut up. +1. Seriously. uh why, this is not a bears message board. yall would talk the same to me Ice, Let me help you out here. While really and technically you aren't breaking any rules, I'd suggest treading lightly. When the Cowboys whooped the Bears hiney 34-10 last year in week three, I tried to stay out of thread as much as I could. Not because it was against the rules, by why piss off half the board that I normally like to discuss baseball with. It's not against the rules, per se...just common courtesy.
  7. Rams get the win! Down go the Redskins! Down go the Redskins!
  8. I agree with what Meph says in theory. W-L is not the best indicator of who is best. On the other hand, the best team needs to be decided on the field. That's the whole premise of athletics. While you can't go solely on W-L records because the schedules and conferences are so disparate, it is important to make the outcome of the games the primary determiner in who plays for the championship. I understand that at times a 2 loss team may be better than an undefeated team, but if they didn't get it done on the field they shouldn't be ranked higher.
  9. LSU could cut the lead to six here.
  10. I really like Sheets, but with Harden already on the staff, we need someone more reliable injury-wise than Sheets.
  11. Both of those teams would have far better resumes and Penn State would deserve to be left out. better resumes in term of strength of conference, not OOC. Penn State's OOC was crap, but Texas' wasn't exactly mind-blowing, and Bama's best was a now unranked Clemson team. Regardless of whether it's because of conference or out of conference, the resumes still will be better. It is one of the problems with not having a playoff. It's not really Penn State's fault that the conferences are better than theirs, but it it what it is. The same thing happened to Auburn years back. which is why I'm rooting against every undefeated team every week. The only way PSU makes the title game is to a) go undefeated and b) have no more than one other undefeated team I'm rooting against the undefeated teams as well. I want as clear as path as there can be for LSU as well. But I also know that if LSU can go undefeated while beating Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama; they deserve to be in the title game no matter how weak their out of conference schedule can be. My fear is that LSU will drop one of those games, so I'm rooting against the undefeated teams as well. :D

  13. I think if the Cubs intend to keep Dempster they need to try to get the deal done before he hits the open market. At that point, I'd rather let him walk.
  14. I'd have to drop OU below all the unbeatens from the major conferences. The top four could be arranged in any order at this point. Texas and Alabama have the best wins of the bunch, so I agree with those at the top two spots. Missouri, LSU, and Penn State all are about eqaul in my eyes. I'd probably order those like that. LSU could raise its stature with a win at Florida, but they would also drop out of the top five with a loss. Missouri and Texas will help settle things next week. We have to take care of business tonight first. True. And that's what makes the college football season so interesting and frustrating at the same time. Each week, a team's national title hopes can be dashed. Texas looks great right now, but they have a tough road ahead of them. LSU still has to face Florida, Bama, and Georgia the rest of the way. OU is out of the picture for now, but a lot can and will happen before it's all said and done.

  16. Hey vance, what's with your boy, Francios? (or however you spell his last name) He trash talk Tebow all week, then he's out for the game (at last I heard) with an injury. What's the matter, he bit off more then he could chewed? He's been nursing that injury since the Auburn game. He sat out the game against Miss State, so his sitting out has nothing to do with his comments earlier in the week. And I think, while his comments about Tebow were imprudent, they were also a bit misconstrued. He was trying to say how hard it was to get a good hit on Tebow and if he got the chance, he'd love to take him out. As Miles said in response, what defensive player doesn't want to get a good lick on the QB. I'm pretty certain the Gators will be trying to put a good lick as often as they can on Lee. But, the comments have nothing to do with him sitting out. I think that both Francois and Beckwith were trying to make it back from nagging injuries because of the magnitude of this game. It just appears that Francois isn't ready yet. He's been limited in practice all week.
  17. I have a feeling Texas wins this one. I just hope that the Tigers can go into the swamp tonight and take care of business.
  18. If Edmonds would sign a one-year 1 million dollar deal, I could see bringing him back. For that cost, he makes a decent platoon option in CF. If he wants more than that in years or dollars, I'd let him explore the market.
  19. I'd love to explore what it would take to get Beltran, but I wouldn't overpay. If I could get the Mets to take back Fukudome, that would be ideal, but I don't think that would happen. Fontenot or DeRosa likely becomes the centerpiece of the deal. Because of the cash the Cubs take on in Beltran, I'd try to insist on Marquis. And if we keep Fukudome while acquiring Beltran, Pie is essentially blocked, so I'd probably try to sell the Mets on him. A couple of possible scenarios could be Fontenot/Marquis/Pie/Wuertz for Beltran or DeRosa/Marquis/Pie/Wuertz. Since I'd love to keep both DeRosa and Fontenot, we might be able to include Cedeno in the place of Fontenot or DeRosa while increasing the value of the rest of the package. Gaudin could be subbed in for Wuertz. We also could throw in a minor leaguer like Atkins or Veal to increase the overall package. Personally, I'd work with building it around Pie and Marquis and add value from there. If the Mets were willing to take Fukudome, then Marquis could be removed and other pieces added. If Fukudome is in the deal, then including Pie may not be as desirable and he becomes a possible RF if the Cubs don't find one in free agency.
  20. Here is the story from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
  21. Roy Williams would be a perfect fit for the Cowboys, not that I expect it to happen.
  22. I wouldn't want to put myself under that level of scrutiny.
  23. Auburn fires its offensive coordinator. Link.
  24. I'm hoping LSU can take it to Florida this week. It's going to be a battle.
