  1. And a 60% chance the Cubs find a way to blow it. But anyways...Go Cubs!
  2. Maybe next time the tv info could at least happen. And the starting pitchers. Some of us DO care. Nothing personal roast, but if you're not going to put the necessary info in the game thread, then let someone else start it. 1. I did not know who was starting. 2. I did not know what channel it was going to be on. 3. I was planning on adding those things after the cubs website put that info on their page, but i forgot. 4. I think I just got on someones case the other day for this, and was told it was ok because he was "shaking things up a bit" It was originally and funny once, but now I think people would rather just have the information. So do i. I was planning on adding it. Like I said, I forgot, I'm sorry. I think sometimes people take these things waaaaaaaaay too seriously. For future reference, in case the thread starter forgets, decides to shake it up, or whatever... 1. click on the address window of you web browser. 2. type in the window "www.cubs.com". 3. Look to the left hand side of the page when it loads (15-30 seconds with high speed internet...a little longer with dial-up) and you will see the information that you seek. Rather than get upset, just find it yourself. Does this need to be a sticky? :P
  3. He's still clearly on a limited pitch count. I have no problem with the Cubs keeping Pawelek down in Mesa for the remainder of the season so he can improve his game and iron out his mechanics as much as possible. He may see Boise at some point this season, but Peoria is just unrealistic, imo. I agree. There's no reason to rush him yet. Let him stay either at Mesa or Boise. Start him at Peoria next season, and if all goes well maybe he finishes 2006 at Daytona.
  4. Speaking of this, does anyone really dislike the blue tops, whether it's home or away. I hate them! As I've stated before, I prefer the home whites and road grays. I can live with the blue tops as an alternate jersey on the road, but I don't think they should ever be worn at home. Why the hate for the blue tops? I like em.. I don't know. I'm just not a fan of them, especially at home. I would like a return of the Cuba script unis of the late 90's.

  6. Fred should be the Cubs information director. Those stats are better than the media notes.
  7. Mota has thrown 38 pitches so far. That's quite a bit for a set-up guy. If we play tomorrow, he'll likely be unavailable.
  8. Milwaukee leads Atlanta, so maybe we gain a game back in the WC race tonight.
  9. Have you seen our bullpen lately? Outside of Dempster we can't get anyone out. Wood is pitching very well and is only at 82 pitches, you don't take him out now and leave it to the bullpen for 3 innings. Wood can get us to the 9th. But if he gets us to the 9th down a run, what good is that. I'd rather take the chance on tying the game and hope the bullpen has something left.
  10. Ok...but would Baker have hit Murton for Hollandsworth if the situation were reversed? Of course not.
  11. A run down in the seventh, a runner in scoring position, and you let the pitcher hit? Does Baker want to get fired?
  12. The bad luck continues for Neifi. I think Neifi might need to go to Iowa to work on his hitting too.
  13. It's nice seeing Barrett showing some patience at the plate.
  14. So which group is more reliable...those numbers or the one with the other team getting a triple? :D
  15. And Wood gets through the third with no damage. 39 pitches so far.
  16. Ron is extemely upset over Hairston's head first slide.
  17. And no thread about Montanez can occur without mentioning that he has a hot sister. Almost makes me want to go to the Future's Game in case she's in the stands.
  18. Not a bad 1st two innings for Wood. Let's get something started this inning against the rookie.
  19. And Wood gives up a hit on his third best pitch.
  20. At least Neifi worked a 10 pitch at bat, even if he has nothing to show for it. 38 pitches for Olsen so far.
