  1. Touchdown Georgia...this is about to be a 3 point game. OML!
  2. Shockley makes a big play. Georgia is driving.
  3. Ken Rosenthal has an article in support of Rice. Link
  4. We can always count on you, Vance. If anything, I'm dependable.
  5. And Georgia's defense steps it up. It's up to their offense to make some plays now.
  6. I came to the realization that it really isn't fair to mention Jeff Bagwell's ex-wife, former stripper turned model without pics... so http://www.shaunebagwell.com/portfolio/Update022000/Shaune10.jpg
  7. I really enjoyed the park in Maryvale. The Angels' park was nice as well.
  8. Notre Dame has a long way to go before I'd pencil them into the championship game next season.
  9. But the cost of Williams and maybe others to upgrade to Soriano isn't worth the upgrade. So who do you want batting 5th? With the current personel, I'd use this line-up: Pierre Walker Lee Ramirez Jones Barrett Murton Cedeno Would Soriano make a nice 5th hitter? Surely, but at the cost of Williams and prospects, I'll pass since we already have Walker. I'm not saying I'd want nothing to do with Soriano. I'm saying that considering the cost and that we have a capable secondbasemen in Walker, I'll pass. But since you asked who I want to bat fifth, I'll say Ramirez when we get Adam Dunn to hit fourth.
  10. This game is getting pretty excited. Reminds me of the Independence Bowl.
  11. Don't count the Bulldogs out yet.
  12. Georgia is going to try to comeback. It will be interesting to see if they can.
  13. http://www.daysinnmesa.com/ That was the hotel I stayed in. It's about a 10 minute drive to Hohokam. It was a decent hotel.
  14. Turn out the lights, the party's over.
  15. How many times are we going to have to see Quinn's sister? And if I were a defensive player dating the QB's sister, do you know how many times I'd be shouting..."Hey Quinn, did you know I did your sister last night?"
  16. Don't forget about Carey even though he doesn't get to play that much. Perilloux will be a nice QB if he doesn't get tired of riding the bench and transfer. Hopefully he'll wait for his turn and shine his Jr. and Sr. year. I wouldn't be surprised if Perrilloux ends up beating out Flynn and Russell for the starting job this spring.

  18. I doubt he's productive at all, but you can't blame him for sticking around. He's due 17 million in 2006 and 18 million in 2007. The Astros can buy out the 07 deal for 7 million. By playing this season and delaying his retirement announcement until the Astros decline the option, Bagwell guarantees himself 24 million. If he retires now, he leaves all that money on the table. Wow. Bags may be "Mr. Astro", but I don't blame him one bit for sticking around, that's just way too much money to throw away. The Astros agreed to the deal, and Bagwell gave that franchise a LOT over the years, he deserves his money. Since he signed the deal prior to the 02 season, he made 8 million in 02, 10 in 03, 13 in 04, an 15 in 05. So, he made 46 in the first 4 years of the deal and still has at least 24 on the table. Considering the contracts that were being signed in 2001 and 2002, some could argue that 8 million in 2002 and 10 million in 2003 were below market value. Bagwell may figure that he's already earned the payouts he's going to receive by sticking around. Also, we don't know how much ex-wife, former stripper Shauna took him for in the divorce.

  20. No. He's due to make 17 million in 2006.
  21. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/meandsammy_small.jpg The good ole days!
  22. Agreed. I'll also admit that there is really nothing more exciting than college football, but the lack of a playoff causes me to lose interest. Other than watching LSU and a few select games, I hardly watch it at all because I don't like the subjectivity involved in the polls, computer rankings, etc.
  23. That sums up what I've been trying to say. I may, and likely would take Soriano over Walker if all things were equal, but they are not. Considering it would cost more dollars and players to get Soriano, the best course of action is for the Cubs to stick with Walker.
  24. So, basically Koufax is the only one of the ten year career guys you believe belongs? Pretty much so. A player has to do something extraordinary for me to let him in with just 10 years. I guess I can understand that. I too think that a player needs an extended peak to get in without the long career, but in my opinion, Belle and Kiner meet that. Both had an 8-10 year run in which they were an offensive force.
  25. I'd bet they'd rather move Soriano than Vidro just because of the circumstances. That doesn't make sense considering they just traded for Soriano. They gave up Wilkerson and Sledge to get him. That's a good bit of value. I don't see them "giving" him away. At question here is what would Washington rather do (not the Cubs or the other teams in the league). They can keep a player that forces you to trade another player or trade the player that is forcing you to make the trade. Neither situation is pretty but I'm thinking they would prefer the guy that doesn't need to be coddled. I thought I had suggested he was going to be given away by offering what I did. If you offer Murton in a deal without getting Jose Guillen back, you've offered too much. I might offer Walker +Patterson or Walker + Marmol...or Walker + Wellemeyer. Nothing more than that, and I'm pretty sure Washington passes on all of those deals. The best move the Cubs can make right now is to hold on to Walker and look for an upgrade in the outfield or add another starter to the rotation.
