    This year's Cubs team was just like the last 100 years plus of Cub's teams. It sucks to be a fan of the biggest group of chokers in all of sports. During my lifetime I've seen the Bears go to the Superbowl twice, the Bulls win it 6 times, the Illini get to the championship game, and the Cubs blow it year after year. Lets face it, its just not gonna happen for the Cubs.

    Heartless. Seriously, wtf is going on that the Cubs decided to not show up for the playoffs? I hope they come back this game, but they have already blown chance after chance.

    Had he said that about three weeks ago in General Baseball, no one would have thought anything of it. Saying it in the middle of a contentious game thread full of pissed off Cubs fan is generally a bad idea. So the truth is bad?

    Its sad that the only emotion I have as a Cub fan for the last 30 years + is to laugh and say, "well that's that Cubs for you".

    Yeah, because Harden would have done great with those 2 runs of support in game 1 or with the 1 run of support in game 2. And as an added bonus, the defense will give the Dodgers 6 outs in the second inning! Maybe you haven't seen his stats since being traded to the Cubs? It is beyond explanation to not send out your best pitcher during the playoffs. The Cubs are getting what they deserve right now.

    You gotta be kidding me. The Cubs have home field advantage and get absolutely killed in the first two games? Lou was a moron for putting the best pitcher on the team for game 3. The Cubs deserve to lose the series based on the stupidity of their manager.

    Good times. There was someone in the Piniella thread begging Hendry to sign Suppan. :D) I think I can safely say that if everyone would have known that Lou would take the Cubs to the playoffs his first two years, we would have all been jumping up and down.

    We get Cubs broadcasts here through a local radio station, and I know several non-Cubs fans that listen to Hughes/Santo because they love to hear Ron. Its funny to hear them talk about what Ron said, or how they wish that the Twins radio announcers were as exciting.

    Have to admit, the Astros are really getting screwed with the rescheduling from the Hurricane and all. Its a shame it had to happen when they were on such a great stretch and had put themselves back into contention for the wildcard and all. But having said that, good teams take advantage of favorable circumstances.

    The Cubs get to add 2 Quasi-home games to the schedule. =D> Maybe they will be able to break out of their funk and lock the division up soon.

    If they want domes, the options are going to be Milwaukee, Minnesota, Seattle, and Toronto for Sunday and Monday (from what I can tell). I'd probably rule Toronto out since international travel has become such an enormous hassle. Seattle would be the closest thing to a neutral site since Cubs fans can make the drive to Milwaukee and the Twin Cities from Chicago. However, I don't know how much both teams would want to travel all the way out to the West Coast to play these games. I would love for them to come to the metrodome.

    If there was ever a time that Pie needs to get hot, it is right now. Lou is not the most patient guy in the world and a few hits for Pie will do wonders for his playing time.

It is hilarious. If you were a fan of another team, the other team's board would be saying exactly the same things that are being said here.

    I love Len and Bob, but their constant excuse making is getting old. We all know that the Brewers lost already and the Cubs can't lose any ground to them tonight, but it still doesn't make the Cubs pathetic play any more acceptable.

    How does our playoff magic number go down with the Brewers loss? I thought Phillie would have to lose because they are in Wild Card second place. 14 for the WC 19 for the division if the Phillies and Brewers lose respectively. Did you mean 19 for the division if the Brewers lose? Philly would only be considered in the WC.
