  1. Have you seen Dubois bat? He would have struck out faster than Macias, generally Macias at least makes contact. Still pretty pathetic that Dusty's best option in that situtation is Macias. Macias usually strikes out, too. The difference is that with Dubois, you have a chance for a GS, or the remote chance of a walk. Macias is a poor, poor hitter. That was terrible managing. Well the stats don't back up your argument. Dubois strikes out roughly 1 out of every 3 times at bat. Macias Strikes out 1 out of every 10.

  3. Is Macias hurt? I don't understand why dusty would go with Hairston.
  4. So how long will Baker continue to stay with Neifi at the top of the order? Perez has already proven over the period of a month or so that he can't get on base leading off.
  5. Dusty knows that Neifi won't clog the bases. Its as simple as that and the fact that Neifi is fast.
  6. Baker had obviously seen enough of Hairston clogging the bases.
  7. That comment was sad but true. Would be nice to see the Cubs give one of thier younger players a chance to actually play.
  8. I guess maybe I am impatient. However, this is my beef with the Cubs and Hendry. Supposedly we have all this super duper talent in the minors. Then by God start trading a few of them for some decent players to replace our mediocre ones such as Patterson. Sorry for the rant but it does get old IMO. It's not like this team is all that far away from really doing something in the postseason. Just add a few more pieces. It's not like this is a surprise to anyone. I am starting to think that Hendry doesn't have a plan for the future. Everyone gets excited about the Farm system and the Cubs supposed talent down there, but what is the point of having good minor league players if they are going to rot on the farm. It is clear that Hendry is not going to give any of these guys a shot to actually win a spot on the team. I say Hendry because he is the one that signs fringe veterans. Case in point, this year the Cubs had 2 young OF in Iowa (Kelton, Dubois), instead of giving them the job and getting acclamated to the majors, he signs T. Hollandsworth and tells him he has a shot to win the job. Knowing Dusty's history of playing rookies that is as good as handing him the job over the rookies. He should be smart enough to realize that Dusty is not going to play the young guys unless that is his only option. Just don't understand why Hendry is so reluctant to trade any of the young players if he is not going to give them a chance to play?
  9. I would hate to see Dunn go to the Astros ala Beltran and take them to the playoffs this year. Espcially when Hendry has better prospects to offer and a deeper system.
  10. Based upon his moves and comments I think it is a fair assement to say he is not very bright. You may have a different assessment as to bright or not bright, which is fair. In my book, anyone who repeatedly does something that is clearly not working is not bright.
  11. Hollandsworth has been hitting well lately. But I agree with you Ramirez should be 4th.
  12. That is the understatement of the year. Dusty has been in baseball long enough to know that you don't put your worst hitters at the 1 and 2 spot in the order. Supposedly he is planning on keeping Neifi at leadoff or second. That is just stupidity. I like Neifi and think he should be out there every day but common sense would tell you he shouldn't be batting higher than 7th or 8th in the order. And exactly how would one know whether or not Dusty is very bright? Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them stupid. Furthermore, an individual decision may indeed be "stupid" without it making the decision maker "stupid". To repeatedly make the same decision, which flies in the face of all logical reasoning is stupid, or more aptly ignorance. Dusty has continued to make horrible decisions this year regarding the lineup. Nobody, with any common sense inserts their two worst OBP guys on the team, who at the time were struggling mightly, into the first two spots in the lineup.

  14. Well someone on another website said the score is reporting that is the lineup for the game. If so, =D> to Dusty for removing his head from another area of his body.
  15. I hope Dusty can find a spot for Macias today. :^o Maybe a start in CF?
  16. your kidding right? anyways, Cedeno is an option at 3rd but why would Baker give a young talented kid 2 starts in a row? :x :x :x I didn't know Cedeno played 3B?
  17. Macias is a good defensive 3B, and maybe the only option the Cubs have there.
  18. great, so he probably sits tomorrow. Can Neifi play 3rd?
  19. There is no way Hendry trades Cedeno after calling him up to be the back up SS. Nobody could be that stupid.
  20. He's gotten 12 at bats in the last 9 games. Even a veteran would lose his stroke playing that infrequently. That is not a fair platoon. He's only had 128 AB's on the season and he really only got regular starts over a 3 week stretch, and now he's on the brink of being dumped from the team. If every rookie on every team was discarded this quickly MLB would be overrun with 50 year old players. I don't get it. He's on the brink of being dumped from the team? Isn't that a little paranoid? Dubois was hitting something like .346 earlier in the year when he was coming off the bench and sadly, it looks like if he is going to remain on the team he is going to be sitting on the bench. What do you guys think happened to him? Are pitchers just figuring him out?
  21. Yeah, .369 is correct That would look nice at the leadoff spot.
  22. T2E, Did you do a thread similar to this with the Photos and Info on the players signed for the 2005 draft? The threads you did last year were excellent. =D> =D>
  23. This is his first Major League season, so I think it is a little overdramatic to say that his future with the Cubs under Dusty is over. Hendry has a lot to say over the matter next year and to Dusty's credit Dubois has not been rotting on the bench as of yet this year. Also, there is still the possiblity that Burnitz or Hollandsworth get injured, in which case Dubois would be playing everyday again.
