    great article in SI about why they do several months back. I said that athletes tend to invest in what/who they hang around with. which is usually restaurants and car dealerships. The article (can't remember who) talked about a football player buying a Hummer dealership in New Orleans in June of 2005, well we know how that year went for N.O.

    How exactly does 1 "show some abandon"? You have to be gritty. Since Aramis is not white, I'm not sure he can be gritty. and he isn't under 5'9" that is a big grit factor

    I wish the Expos were still around. I loved driving up to Montreal for a weekend of gambling, drinking, strip clubs, and a cheap ticket to a sparsely attended major league baseball game. just wanted to say that strip clubs in Canada effing rule. where my bachelor party was held , Windsor

    Sounds like a lot of hate toward Cavs but like Michigan in NCAA Cleveland, as a city, needs this. Just like Chicago needed the bulls to win in the 90's . LeBron is great for the community just like Jordan was, and like I said nobody wants to see a defensive player of the year VS those guys in Denver in the finals. They want Kobe and Lebron

    From what I've heard, it's not his arm that's the problem. It's his glove. Apparently he can't catch the ball behind the plate or in the field. Tell the other team not to hit it to him, problem solved

    My dad still has the Barbie Benton issue. They just sent me the programs from a game in 1967/68 with Ernie Banks sig on it. My dad is dying and he has even said "wait until you have to clean out his closet in his man cave he has in the garage."

    We should care, because this joke and a half determines home field advantage for the World Series. I agree, if we get there but our Cubs are so mediocre this year it is hard to get excited about voting for any of them

    Miles to DL makes sense. Cotts/Waddel is a wash as far as Im concerned. Blanco makes no sense. the guy has 6 errors on the season, and will be lucky to match Ryan Freels offensive numbers thus far. I get the feeling that in a weeks time, Blanco hate will eclipse that of Jacque Jones, Macias, Neifi, Kendall, Hawkins, Miles, Freel, Gathright, C Patt, and Cotts combined. I guess it means that Freel gets the starting 3B job by default. Wow, that is pretty big hate
