  1. Zook brought the words written down on a piece of paper. Booooo. How can you not know the words?
  2. Maybe we can call up Brownlie to take Wuertz's spot in the bullpen. Wuertz has just been awful lately. :x
  3. I thought Blanco was Prior's personal catcher?
  4. Geez. Not even the media gets it. The man has a no-trade clause. He and his wife love Chicago. He's not going to be traded.
  5. Great. Now if we can just get Prior to not give up first inning homeruns we should have a good day. Hopefully. Nah, Cubs still suck.
  6. Has anyone taken a look at the lineup they're trotting out there? 1-4 pretty solid, then the bottom drops out, 5-8, offensively, could be amongst the worst in the NL : Lamb, Palmeiro, Everett and Ausmus. At some point its going to catch up with them, let's hope its in the Regular Season and not the Playoffs. Clemens, Oswalt, and Pettitte have been dominating for them though. Don't need much offense when your pitchers aren't giving up many runs.
  7. How about we get Soriano and then ship him to Boston for Manny??? :D
  8. Better get your tickets now DJAXX. Looks like Nomar and Woody could both be rehabbing in West Tenn this coming week. The Trib
  9. The Astros win again on a walk-off single by Brad Ausmus. They win 3-2 and are now tied for the WC lead.
  10. Way to go out on a limb there.
  11. Cpatt's not in the Iowa lineup for the 2nd day in a row? Interesting...
  12. I guess that sounds right. But I guess the real question is 'What is keeping Brandon Sing from being considered one of our elite prospects?' He's obviously got tremendous power combined with patience. He's only a year older than Murton so I'm not so sure that his age (24) is the reason. Here's a good thread from the Minor League Forum talking about Sing: Sing Appreciation Thread Premium Thread
  13. Oh lawrdy. I was getting all set to expect nothing and accept the fact that we'd have to make do....and now this. I have a hard time believing that Hoops would post over at Desipio. They don't seem to like Hoops all that much over there. While we're on Desipio, does anyone get the feeling that they're a bunch of guys who've been banned by NSBB? The forum doesn't seem to bring much to the table.
  14. Sing is blocked by Lee. He's a first baseman. He's also spent a good amount of time in the outfield this year.
  15. Also relating to Texas baseball, via Will Carroll, A Dallas radio station is saying that the Rangers are close to sending Soriano to the Mets for Cameron and Milledge. Bruce Levine was on ESPN 1000 a little while ago and said the Cubs were also trying to get Soriano. All I have to say is get the deal done quick Minaya. I don't want Soriano anywhere near this team.
  16. Haha. Gotta love the trade deadline. I think the fact that Houston websites don't seem to even know they've traded for Huff makes me think that this is a bogus rumor.
  17. Woody will throw a side session on Friday and if everything goes well he'll be off for a rehab assignement. From Cubs.com: Here's the article: http://tinyurl.com/7jfl4
  18. Terrible at-bat by Cedeno there. You gotta make contact. :x
  19. Braves win again. There's another game to be gained in the WC if we can pull out a victory today.
  20. It's amazing how the Braves bring up a guy and he produces. I thought they had to "wait their turn" before they started producing.
  21. I don't understand the Reds thinking, they need pitching, their only tradable commodities are the OF's And none are available? It's too difficult to understand the Reds thinking because I don't think they understand it themselves. Their organization is screwed up big time. I guess they're just going to keep having to deal with having 4 good outfielders who should be playing everyday for only 3 positions. I'm sure that won't turn into a problem. Wait, it already has. The Reds don't have a clue.
  22. I don't mind the lineup at all. It's actually a pretty good lineup. I'd probably put Murton 2nd, Cedeno 7th, and Neifi 8th, but that's asking way too much.
  23. Here's a little snippet from the article:
  24. Not good news on Petrick. From an interview on ITI, Petrick is done for the season. He had to have season-ending shoulder surgery. He had a torn labrum. Here's the article from ITI: http://cubs.scout.com/2/413471.html
  25. Didn't see it posted anywhere. From Rotoworld:
