    furcal

    Best poll ever.
  2. I still think Hendry should look into trading for Vazquez and Tracy from the Diamondbacks. We'll take Vazquez and his big contract off their hands if they give us Tracy as well. They have a surplus in the outfield as it is.
  3. At this point I almost wish Hendry would just trade for Pierre already so we don't have to dish out some ridiculous contract to Furcal. I'm not a big fan of Pierre, but Hendry seems to be. If he can get his speedy leadoff hitter that he covets we can move on. Or at least Furcal and his agent wouldn't have the upper hand. Also, anyone know why Hendry came out early in the offseason and said Furcal was a #1 target? Seems foolish to me since it gives Furcal's agent the upper hand during negotiations.
  4. The article goes on to discuss the fact that there's some discrepancies on whether or not Farnsworth called the Braves and said he was signing with the Yankees. But 19 million for Farnsworth?!? I could see giving the Farns a 3-year deal if the 3 years included 2 odd years. But this one will include 2006 and 2008. Don't teams know Farns sucks in even years??? $19 million is ridiculous. I hope the Yankees sign him.
  5. I just want this to be over already. Make your decision Fooky. I'm tired of the back and forths. I'm extremely nervous of Hendry's "backup plan" if he doesn't get Furcal though. :ohnoes:
  6. 3 years, $39 million???? Time for plan B...
  7. haha. I posted this like 2 hours ago and it's just now showing up.
  8. I've tried starting 3 different threads in the past couple of hours and none have shown up.
  9. Dodgers make substantial offer to Furcal I wish this would end all ready. I don't really care anymore about where he signs. I just wish he'd make up his mind so we can move on.
  10. Gammons? He didn't say. Just said there have been talks. Didn't even say how serious the talks were.
  11. Anyone catch the comments from Bonds on sportscenter that he wanted to lose 40 pounds before next season? I wonder what that is about...
  12. The edit function doesn't seem to be working. -- edit -- It's working for me now! (this is Tim)
  13. The edit function doesn't seem to be working. The Giants and Phillies have talked about a Abreu for Jason Schmidt swap. The Giants would then try to sign Matt Morris to replace Scmidt in the rotation.
  14. Jason Stark mentioned on Sportscenter tonight about the Phillies and Giants talking trade. Bobby Abreu for Jason Schmidt. The Giants would then sign Matt Morris to replace Schmidt.
  15. Mentioned by Jason Stark on ESPN Sportscenter. The Giants would then try and sign Matt Morris.
  16. It's alright. We're all having problems. Gotta love the triple posts though.
  17. I know Patterson's trade value is at an all-time low right now, but I think we can do better than taking on Finley. He was horrible last year. I'd pass.
  18. Same thing for me. I hit submit and it takes me to an error page. But my posts are still being posted even though I get the error page. They do take a couple moments to show up though. I can see why people keep double and triple posting. I'm just glad NSBB is back up. Hopefully things will get smoother.
  19. Then the Red Sox don't have to trade him. If he doesn't show up for spring training he's violating his contract. Red Sox might be able to void his contract. Let him sit out if he wants to.
  20. Even if Giles is 70% as effective he still is only making 10 mill/year. In three years that probably won't be that much for a putting up those numbers. He was the perfect fit. I understand if he wasn't interested in leaving the WC. Maybe Hendry knew and that is why he didn't persue, who knows. I agree, Giles would have been a perfect fit. However, as the BJ's found out, you can't force someone to take your offer, even if it was almost twice the amount the Pads offered. My guess is that Giles was never really considering leaving SD. Jay's GM vehemently denied that he offered 5 years and $50 million to Giles.
  21. Anyone else getting really tired of this crap with Furcal? One moment he's leaning towards the Cubs, next minute he's wanting to stay with the Braves, and now the Dodgers have become a big player. I could never be a GM. I would have given Furcal's agent an ultimatum a while ago. :D
