  1. If the proposed deal goes through, the Yankees will have a payroll that is more than $100M more than any other team in baseball. What a joke.
  2. What's insane is that the Orioles actually said no to that deal. I would do that deal in a heartbeat if I were the Orioles.
  3. Doesn't sound like Tejada is going anywhere. Also, is there any other owner in baseball that micromanages like Angelos does?
  4. BBTN is having the same "trade deadline special" tonight at 10pm ET for those interested.
  5. There aren't enough players in the league like Maddux. He really is a class act.
  6. Abreu not in the lineup tonight (only the 2nd time all year). Maybe he's on the move tonight.
  7. I'm scared for the offseason if Aram does opt out. I see Hendry getting really desperate and throwing tons of money at Carlos Lee. :x
  8. Ah, the wonderful Fox blackout. I won't be able to watch because my game of the week is Boston/LA Angels at 1pm ET. Instead of showing the Cubs at 4pm ET, Fox will have Cops playing. Gotta love the Fox Saturday blackout. :x
  9. Wow. Way to ruin a weekend Serena.
  10. Maddux's best value right now is mentoring Marshall, Marmol, and Hill. Then he should retire and take Rothschild place as pitching coach. Keeping him just means that he's taking another person's place (Guzman) in the rotation. This year means nothing and Maddux should not be re-signed in the offseason. We need to know what we have in Marmol, Marshall, Hill, and Guzman. It's pointless to keep Maddux at this point.
  11. Steve Phillips just said the market for Maddux isn't very good. He said the both the Padres and the Dodgers have backed off their interest in him, and the Mets haven't really had that much interest in him to begin with.
  12. He apparently ate that last spoon of Wheaties You ain't kidding. Geez.
  13. Harvey had 4 homeruns on the night?
  14. I believe he's a free agent next year. Just a rental for the Brewers with Koskie on the DL.
  15. Still trying to figure out how this is a trade-deadline special. :-k
  16. Yep. Looks like it's a done deal. Brewer's announcers just mentioned it.
  17. Guess the Rangers new strategy is to score 20 runs a game to win games. Could you imagine if they added Tejada to that lineup?
  18. How bad to Giant fans have to feel every time they see Liriano go out and dominate hitters for the Twins? Worst trade ever.
  19. Absolutely nothing to do with the trade rumors, but Damion Miller is a stud. He just took an absolute beating from Dunn who was barreling down on him trying to score, but Miller hung on to the ball to record the out at home. You'll see it on Sportscenter later.
  20. Brewers' announcers are making it seem like it's pretty much a done deal and they're just waiting until the 2 games are over tonight. They just talked to Melvin and he wouldn't confirm that Bell was being traded, but obviously a GM can't confirm a trade rumor if the guy they're trading for is still in the Phillies' lineup playing right now.
  21. Heard it too. Shucks. I don't understand why we're holding on to pieces that aren't in the future. Why not try and get whatever you can for Maddux? The only reason I can see for Hendry not trading Maddux is that Hendry plans on trying to bring Maddux back next year, which would probably be the worst idea possible.
