  1. Miller is only throwing 83-85mph in his rehab starts and is only signed for this year. Don't expect to see him next year.
  2. I've seen one guy get a card for diving inside the box. I think that's the only way you can get a card for a dive, by being inside the penalty box when you do it. Not sure though. Agree on the diving though. I don't watch that much soccer, but have really been into these games. But it drives me insane watching players flopping all over the place.
  3. Didn't he do really well in 2005 in AA? He did, but he only played for half a season because of that ankle injury. Have to figure that half-a-season off isn't going to help his development. Might have been a better idea just leaving him in AA this year and moving him up if he was doing well.
  4. Pitchers were making clutch pitches against Corey all last year. It was just a tough break. Corey hit a lot of balls right at people last year, and there were a lot of pitches that somehow just missed his bat. Sometimes you just go through the tough breaks.
  5. Would I? I'm up for trading just about anybody from this organization, and Barrett is not free from that list. If they could get a good young catcher, and they had a manager who could deal with having a young catcher, I'd be all for it. Who do you want for manager? Is there a place to look and see what types of guys are available and what they believe/theories are? I want a catcher that get it to second in 1.5 and hit 330/440. Is that too much to ask? No problem. Let me see what I got in back.
  6. .248/.314/.390/.705 with 7 homeruns and 38 rbi's on the season.
  7. It would be the first time Hendry sold high.
  8. I absolutely want Baker to be fired, but my question is why does Hendry get a pass? He put together this crappy team. He's the one who gave Neifi and Rusch 2-year contracts. He was the one who once again put too much faith in Prior and Wood staying healthy. He's the one who put together this toolsy, swing-at-everything offense. I know he got an extension, but why is he not getting any heat for this mess?
  9. I'm loving it. Just shows Dusty doesn't have control of his clubhouse. Tensions are running high. Hopefully there's a clubhouse brawl that someone in the media witnesses. I see Z using Rusch as one of those big red plastic wiffle bats and Neifi is the wiffle ball. Tee off Z, tee off.
  10. Are the Cubs still playing the games or just putting in the forfeit before gametime?
  11. He's been pitching for Iowa. He's started some games, but I think he's working out of the bullpen now. In 51 innings for Iowa he has a 4.38 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP. Not exactly tearing up AAA ball. :x
  12. Ken Rosenthal just said on Fox Sports that if the Cubs flop this weekend against the White Sox, that that could be it for Dusty Baker. Best news I've heard all week.
  13. Neifi is worn out from grabbing his crotch all the time. He needs a day off.
  14. Wow. I'm speechless. Don't even know how to respond to the thought of the Cubs not being able to work out because of some paid clinic. Anger comes to mind first.
  15. As I watch the Yankees and Braves on ESPN, I can't help but think that we could get Arod. The fans are booing him mercilessly. Maybe a 3-way trade where we give them Aram and help them get Willis from Florida by sending some prospects, along with Yankee prospects, Florida's way.

  17. The Royals play in the AL and in a tough division. Guarantee they would mop the floor with us.
  18. And down goes another one of Baker's horses. The article also says Nevin is next to go because he doesn't fit into the Cubs' plans. What will Dusty do now?
  19. Nope. He didn't talk about the Cubs. Just the Whitesox.
  20. The Red Sox. One of the teams that actually get it. I'd say the A's too, but I don't watch them enough.
  21. Huh? Phillips misspelled Derrek Lee's name.
  22. You can see why Steve Phillips was run out of NYC.
  23. Can we make a "Happy Billy Petrick" day? The man throws nothing but ground balls.
