  1. I'm going to wait a while before I use my 2 transactions, but I PM'ed Laura my new WC choice. Ryan Shealy was worse than awful in the first half. Terrible choice.
  2. Demoted TWO levels? Wow. Not that he's good, but that definitely has to be a shot to the ego.
  3. We'll see if you still feel that way if the game is on the line late and our only pinch hitters left are Hill or Bowen. You haven't thought this through. The alternative is to have one in the lineup for 4 at bats. I give the 4 at bats to Soto and live with the PH risk for one series. I have thought this through. It's better to get rid of one of the catchers and give that space to someone who might actually be useful (Cedeno, Petrick, Murton, Epatt, Kroeger, etc)
  4. I refuse to get my hopes up.

  6. I just wet myself a little. It's not going to happen though.
  7. I thought Dempster had a setback and was going to take a little longer.
  8. Alright. I want to know the person who voted for Ichiro.
  9. There shouldn't be concerts at Wrigley in the first place. Stupid Tribune Company.
  10. I like the thought of Izturis out of the country.
  11. Just turn it off. Believe me, it's not worth listening to.
  12. Great news. It's about time. I'll be interested in seeing what other moves accompany this one. I'm hoping Soto gets the bulk of starts now. I don't want to see him be the backup to Bowen.
  13. Agreed. I'd much rather have Dunn than Griffey, especially since it would probably cost less prospects. Plus Dunn doesn't have the injury history of Griffey. Yeah, he'd be a butcher in RF, but I'd be willing to put up with it. Put Pie in CF full time and you have 2 above average outfielders in LF and CF. We can live with a below-average guy in RF.
  14. Very interested in Izturis? 3 teams? I'll believe it when I see it.
  15. The Sox aren't going to be buyers. Also, I really don't want to see Griffey in CF. That's begging for another injury. I'm would already be worried about him getting hurt if he came to the Cubs. With his injury history and our bad luck, it's a disaster in waiting.
  16. If you really want 12 pitchers, now is not the time to do it. The only reason to waste a roster spot on a 7th reliever is if your bullpen has been taxed. Cubs' relievers will have at least 4 days of rest before gametime, and all but Howry will have at least 5. I don't think the Cubs need 12 pitchers period, but Lou has been barking for quite some time about how he wants to get back to 12.
  17. Ugh. No Sammy please. There's no way Hendry would bring him back.
  18. Since we're lacking in offense from a couple different positions, I'd like a RF who is good at both. There is RH RF making the league minimum playing for a team out of contention with an OPS over 1.000 against LHP if anyone would be interested. And there's the problem. Teams don't like to trade productive players who are making league minimum (well-run teams anyway).
  19. Since we're lacking in offense from a couple different positions, I'd like a RF who is good at both.
  20. I get the feeling we're going to see some moves made either tomorrow or before the game. Don't know if that means someone gets sent down, or someone gets traded, but Lou wants his 12 pitchers, so I think we'll see that before Friday.
  21. Have no interest for the home run derby or the all-star game. Bring on Friday!!
  22. No offense to the players left, but this thing has become a joke since TT and UK (ping) aren't in the finals. They are easily the best posters on here. I'm going to vote for Raisin here though. He makes the minor league forum.
  23. Nice. Nothing better than coming home to see the Cubs won and that they gained a game in the standings.
  24. he ain't this good though The Brewers have a bunch of players playing way over their head.
