Agreed. As long as Monroe is used as a RH off the bench or as a platoon player against lefties, then this trade makes the team better. Fox didn't look good in his short time with the team, and now we can get Jacque out of the lineup against lefties.

Burnitz had a .770 OPS that season he played for the Cubs. That's not good for a corner outfielder. Jones was decent last year, but has been pretty awful this year outside of a good couple of weeks. Jones was a big bargain last year and has been about the same amount overpaid this year. Through 1 2/3 years, he's given about as much production as could be expected for his contract. It will be the last 1 1/3 years that will figure out if it was a good deal or not. and CCP with the assist.... I love how we're all excited about a okay-sorta contract. Our outfield situation has been pretty terrible since the Sosa and Alou days, and Hendry hasn't done much to change that. He's brought in players like Jones, Burnitz, Hollandsworth, Pierre, and our outfield has been one of the worst offensively the past couple of years. He finally brought in a decent outfielder in Soriano, but had to pay over $100 million to get him.

You knew as soon as he was DFA'd by the Tigers that he was on his way to Chicago. If he's used only as a RH power bat off the bench with starts against lefties, then I don't mind this.

Isn't DeRosa in RF? I don't understand why you wouldn't put Pie in CF and move Jacque to LF.
