I'm reminded of all the garbage pitchers who turned into Cy Young when they faced Dusty Baker's Cubs. I wonder how long this proven winner of a manager can get paid before people see a common denominator between Dusty and his pathetic, Bondsless offenses. He needs his horses. I have a feeling a lot of managers could look good if they had a .600 OBP 73-HR behemoth to slide into their lineup. Yeah, I also think a lot of guys would have done pretty well with a rotation of Wood, Prior, Clement, and Z. While they were all healthy. Inspite of himself, he did alright. That season, at least. He gets credit for being at the helm of the Cubs' deepest playoff run of the modern era. 5 outs from a Cubs Ws appearance, 9 outs from a Giants WS victory - proven winner, dude!
