  1. I actually get to follow this one (maybe watch too?). There's a nearby restaurant that, for $15, offers an appetizer, a burger, fries, and choice of bottomless mamosos (sp) or bloody marys on Sundays from 11am to 3pm, and some of the best scenery in Baltimore comes complimentary, so I'll be drunk by the time this one starts. It's up to the Cubs whether or not the day finishes as good as it starts.
  2. You don't have any evidence... Han-Stupid destroyed it all! http://www.felio.org/images/mugatu.jpg
  3. Much better welcome home than yesterday good job cubs. Is it me or has DeRo hit a HR in each of his last 16 (or so) games?
  4. Off to work to miss the whole game and be cut off from the outside world. Cobs, if you pull that crap again, we's gonna have words.
  5. What happened? I sat in the rain for 2 hours getting drunk, wondering if there was going to be a doubleheader on Saturday. Then the rain stopped and they started playing. Looked good for awhile, happy. Then Marquis started sucking to high heaven, so Lou puts Cotts in there. Cotts then serves up a granny ball to that little punk who probably still can't believe he hit it, and we were all like "WAT?". Then more runs, more BS from various bozo pitchers. I left in the 8th and went and got a hot dog. Ridiculous waste of my time. That's what happened. But other than THAT, did you enjoy your day at the ballpark??
  6. the game wasn't actually played, it's all been an elaborate hoax This was probably Dempster's idea. Canadians.
  7. I just got home from work. As if seeing the score wasn't enough of a shock, the next two things I see are video clips linking to Alfonso Soriano stealing home... and Derrek Lee hitting a homerun. Now I'm convinced this is all just some sick joke. What really happened??
  8. My work day today got bumped back by five hours. Now my four busiest hours of shift, during which I'm lucky to get a bathroom break, will begin just before this game. I had better come home to victory, Cubs :club:
  9. IIRC, Cubs handily and regularly beat up on Fogg last year. Please resume this trend.
  10. Pathetic night completed. Sucks to lose to a team that had no business winning this game, but things are still looking good for the Cubs. Lee and Fuku, however, should really consider ending their slumps before the end of the season...
  11. Pouring it on in blowouts is still only good for one win. They've gotten one win plenty more times than anyone else.
  12. I was just thinking about all the Guitar Hero I suddenly wish I had been playing instead.
  13. His experience as a good hitter before coming over here, combined with living on the other half of the world from where he's been his whole life, are not excuses for sucking, and his batting has been ridiculous bad, but I also think the aforementioned excuses are decent reasons to give the guy a little more leeway before dropping the Jacque treatment on him. Also, I don't think being trendy is so much the reason he's getting a free pass as the Cubs having the best record in baseball is. I don't know. I went to the Marlins series this weekend and everytime he came up to bat he got loud "FUKUDOME" chants from most of the Cubs fans in the place. And of course there those stupid headbands all over the place. True, I guess he is pretty trendy, but I still don't mind him getting a pass while the team is still successful.
  14. Granted the top of the lineup isn't exactly enough to strike fear into the hearts of most little league pitchers lately, but stranger things have happened in the last week than if the Cubs were to win this in extras, or even the ninth.

  16. An astronaut. 3-2-1, get it?? I see what he did there.
  17. We ain't losin this game Sure we are. Dusty's a proven winner, Cubs are losers. Winners don't lose games to losers. (I don't believe in green font. When in doubt, I'm not to be taken even remotely seriously.)
  18. Not only will this game go down as a loss, but it will also reverse the last 5 wins, so as to remove the undeserved title of "best record in baseball" from this sham division leader.
  19. Anyone else ready for this inning to be over? It's getting a little old.
  20. The guy he used to be 2 weeks ago and probably will be again next week? Hes streaky. Always has been, always will be. Sammy was, too. Who is better when red hot? Soriano now or Sammy in his prime? Sammy had 20 homers in one month. I would say him. Yea, Sori's hot streaks are impressive, but they aren't frequent enough or long enough to be in the same discussion. Sammy in his prime also took more walks.
  21. It was only a matter of time. Good run, TLR =D> #-o
  22. It was only a matter of time. Good run, TLR =D>
  23. I said it early last night, and I believe it will be true again tonight. Cubs win by at least three runs. Color me not-too-concerned.
  24. Sounds racist to me. Maybe we can create an uproar and send him the way of Imus.
