  1. I feel the same way today as I did last time the Cubs were down 2-1: Pulling back to even 2-2 = Cubs take the series. I'm just worried about how much taller of an order that is this time around.
  2. Wind howling out in a 1-run game. Strop keeps it at 1, and anything can still happen.
  3. More importantly: This is proof that even Jason Heyward can dong in this wind.
  4. World Series baseball. Wrigley Field. TONIGHT. The next 10.5 hours are going to be slooooowwwww.
  5. This just made my night. God I horsefeathering love this team.
  6. Still feeling good about this series. Jake doesn't need to be god-mode, he just needs a QS in order for this win to be plenty comfortable. Our dongsmiths handle the rest.
  7. Doesn't matter that contreras lost that base. Worth it for the bat flip. The five guys behind him still have to score.
  8. Loving Contreras at the plate here. He still feels it too.
  9. Allen still pitching the 9th because no one else was up. Cubs get a look at him anyway
  10. 6-0 loss is the same as a 3-0 loss. Still feeling good. Let them have their RD game.
  11. This whole lineup got a good look at Miller. He doesn't dominate the whole series this time around, no horsefeathers chance. Cleveland's roster isn't deep enough to hang with this team for 7 games. Still feeling good.
  12. I honestly believe that zero people watched that series. The 2005 White Sox is the tree that fell in the woods and no one heard it.
  13. The Chicago Cubs. Are in. The World Series. TONIGHT. I hope no one at work expects me to talk about anything else.
  14. I don't think they needed any help at all in this regard.
  15. Hey guys, I'm gonna watch the Cubs play in the World Series tonight.
  16. Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing the complete lack of any talk about outdoor projection of the game means it's probably a pipe dream. I can't imagine MLB's copyright rules would allow for such a thing to happen. Which stinks, because I don't want to be stuck somewhere relying on my phone to stream the game at 3 pitches behind real time, when I'm in earshot of so many thousands of people. i don't think watch parties are unprecedented the cubs had planned one at wrigley for the wild card game last year but it fell through for some reason An MLB franchise planning one at an MLB park sounds much more realistic* to me than off site elsewhere in the city, when the game is happening at Wrigley. * I'm admittedly unknowledgeable and irrationally pessimistic in these matters.

  18. With the lack of capacity at bars, and the price of tickets requiring us to empty our life savings, has there been any word around the city about any larger-scale public viewings, like putting up a projector screen at Grant Park? That could be what it takes to sell the wife on pulling our kid out of school and bringing the whole family up.
