  1. I'm still a Barrett fan. Sad news, I hope he comes back soon.
  2. For Ankiel? Absolutely. I wouldn't even be surprised if he turned it up a notch from here on and pushed 90.
  3. I just read the recap and saw that Sori walked in the 12th?! Granted, most of the lineup walked that inning, but still. What was the pitcher at the time doing, aiming for the press box? I can't believe Sori let that happen in such a clutch situation. EDIT - And someone smack Soccer and tell him to get on the ball for next game thread. Off day or not, he's got a streak to maintain.
  4. Can you say defensive drills on the off day? This is effing ridiculous.
  5. Crap. Cedeno's run differential is down to +1. Theriot's job is still there.
  6. I wonder if there will be any Cubs vendors in pitt or philly this week. I'd love to find one out here.
  7. My crush on Nomar was pretty instant too, but that was based on prior reputation. As far as going from zero to crush, I'd say fuku is the quickest. No kidding. The guy was an INSTANT fan favorite at wrigley. Of course, when you take your first MLB pitch for a double that will happen. But, honestly, anytime anyone even says his name half of the bleachers stand up and start bowing. And I'm pretty sure more people now own those Fukudome headbands than own cubs hats. I need to get one of those.

  9. Seems like the perfect day for Lou to give Howry that work he was talking about. Or Eyre? Isn't he still on the DL?

  11. Cedeno!!! I hope Theriot's comfy wherever he's sitting.
  12. I love how the Cubs are allowing an inaccurate pitcher on a crappy day to walk them. And look at this... runs are scoring too!!! wooooow..... Geovany Soto.
  13. gameday audio is up, screw wgn. And I want to have kosuke's babies.
  14. I'm gald we didn't get to see any of that. It probably didn't matter anyway.
  15. Reed Johnson again with the base clogging. Pie should be back soon. It ain't called walking, dude.
  16. I just fell over and died of shock. I did NOT expect Sori to make an out on one pitch. ....
  17. I'd say pretty average. Not quite as accurate with his curveball as he needs to be to really be effective, but at least a little better than before.
  18. Yea, I forget who the sponsor was or what had to happen for their donation to happen, I just remember thinking that it would happen a lot and interrupt a lot of innings. I think Jiffy Lube will now donate $100 if a Cubs pitcher throws 95 mph or faster. And Walgreens donates $100 for every Cubs walk. That Cubs walk one wasn't a problem last year, but the 95 mph is the one I thought was ridiculous. It happened about 40 times during Z's last start. That really needs to stop soon.

  20. Too bad Lilly couldn't reach. Then we would have gotten through Sori's spot in the order for Johnson to lead off next inning. EDIT - ninja'd.
