  1. Exactly. He fits better than the other guys. I don't like Bichette much, because of his defense and base running. Bregman is probably too expensive/long for an older guy.
  2. I want to keep Ben, too, but as a reliever/swingman.
  3. I was actually thinking the same thing, but it's not very realistic. Bellinger? Bregman? No, I don't think the Cubs get one of those guys. Gallen, Gore or Cabrera? Maybe, but less than likely. I don't know what they will do, but I hope they get someone decent or better. Again, I really hope I'm wrong.
  4. Thank you. I remember when he came over, he threw some 93~94mph, and he had like less than 1.00 ERA for a while. I want the 2024 version of Shota back.😄 BTW, Ohtani just can't hit Shota. I think he's been 0 for 11 or something like that against Shota.
  5. I want to read the article on Shota. Where can I find it?
  6. Sadly, I feel the same. If that's the case, our big bat signing would be Austin. Our biggest offseason move would be Maton. I'm still hoping I'm wrong, and they actually do something, though.
  7. I guess Tucker or Bellinger + Bichette or Bregman was too expensive, even for the Jays. So, they went with Okamoto + one of those guys.
  8. That's more or less what Bregman is looking for, right?
  9. Does it something to do with the posting fee? The Astros pay the posting fee, and Imai hits FA after one season, that's not great. I've heard they need to pay the fee for the original guaranteed contract, in this case 3yrs, even if Imai opts out after the first season.
  10. 54-48 would make it 85.76 wins in 162 games. That's better than 83 wins.😁
  11. I'm not the guy who said we could find someone a lot cheaper. I thought only Schwarber could replace Tucker this winter, but he's already gone.
  12. Yes, you're right about that, but I was more like if they let Nico go after the next season or trade him now, extend him, instead of signing Bichette.
  13. I don't even know if Bichette is better than Nico. Yes, he has more power, but his defense way worse than Nico. So, no, I don't belive the Bichette rumor, either. I don't even think Bregman is realistic. I want the Cubs to prove me wrong, though.
  14. I'm sure he was much better, if he was healthy. No doubt. But, Gjfificifjdej was talking about that version of Tucker (with injuries and all that.)
  15. Well, I just checked from July 1st to the end of the season, Tucker's fWAR was 0.7. Only McGuire, Turner and Castro were worse than Tucker. (Note: I set the minimum PA to 60.)
  16. You didn't include Shota.
  17. Yeah, I agree. Too bad, we didn't get him. I just heard it's $63m for 3 years with opt outs every year. That's pretty crazy. Not a bad deal for Imai at all. The Cubs probably offered opt out after 2 seasons or something like that.
  18. I don't think so, because of the CBA thingy. I think Imai gets at least a few offers, or I should say he already got a few, and made up his and Boras' mind. Actually, I'm a little surprised that you guys are still awake. I'm in CA, so I'm 2hrs behind most of you.😀 It's still 10:30PM here.
  19. Yeah, I guess "has to" could've been the words. The slow market is frustrating, but somewhat exciting at the same time.
  20. What I meant was "right now", he wants to be done with those two with deadlines coming very soon. Yes, the market has been slow this winter, and it's kind of frustrating for many of us, not just for the Cubs fans.
  21. I guess Boras wants to finish Imai and Okamoto first, and then move to Bregman, Gallen..... He must be really busy.
  22. Imai the 2nd, Okamoto the 4th.
  23. Not unless he sucks bad, like I felt lucky the Cubs didn't get Tanner Scott, although Scott will most likely bounce back. Even if Imai doesn't sign with the Cubs, I would be interested in him.
  24. I don't know, but I think Imai and Gallen will get similar AAV. Maybe, Imai will get a 4~6yr deal, and Gallen will get 3~4yr. I wouldn't be super surprised, if Gallen comes back big next year, but I doubt it. More than likely, he won't be anywhere close to who he was a few years ago.
  25. I wouldn't be surprised, the White Sox sign Sugano for a cheap 1yr deal. But, Imai? I don't think so.
