  1. I was not saying “this team is only going to win 75 games” I was pointing out that they are playing badly on offense and it looks like it did for long stretches last summer. I don’t think thats a very hot take. April and parts of May covered up a lot of extremely poor hitting by the end of 2025 and its concerning to see that picking up where it left off.
  2. Hopefully the bats can use the unscheduled off day to regroup a bit, been some ugly plate appearances so far.
  3. You probably are right but thats how I feel today. I see the same issues that tanked the lineup from June onward last year.
  4. I would consider that part of overall performance but my initial point is unchanged, its ridiculous to connect that to an MLB team. Canada suffered its most embarrassing defeat in a generation at the Olympics and that doesn’t impact how I feel about my NHL team, that would be absurd.
  5. Idk what you could possibly mean then, the WBC isn’t worth being bothered by.
  6. Letting the performance of a national team in a mickey mouse tournament affect your feelings towards a major league team is kinda insane ngl
  7. Obviously theres the early season Wrigley factor but the lineup looks just as poor as it did from June-September last season. I expected a loss tonight but that was purely expecting Taillon to blow up.
  8. That is 100 innings where I don’t have to watch Taillon and Shota throw batting practice, that is invaluable beyond description.
  9. That is a wild thing to say given how Cabrera is looking like 1 of 2 not awful SP on the team.
  10. Not how you want to start a season with high expectations obviously, pitching and hitting both straight up not good, but at least Shota only got nuked the one time and Bregman looks as advertised. Atleast they got a win.
  11. Genuinely the only good news today.
  12. Tough day for Bregman defensively. Hopefully the weekend is better results with actual professional pitchers starting.
  13. Maybe this bottom 5 team in MLB is gonna be the Murderers Row Yankees instead because they are crushing everything
  14. Idk how Horton wasn’t the opening day guy, Boys was an atrocity against the sport in the playoffs and didn’t look great in the spring either. Pitching BP to a AAA team right now.
  15. You are a victim of small market franchise propaganda my friend. These teams likely won’t even bother spending real cash to the salary floor, they’ll acquire albatross contracts from big markets teams ala the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL. People expecting a salary cap to magically create NFL level parity year to year fundamentally misunderstand what allows the NFL playoffs to have higher variance year to year. This push for a cap is an attack on the sport from markets that categorically should not have major league teams.
  16. Missed 2027 with the small markets forcing a lockout might have factored into the decision.
  17. Thats cool and all but he looks like a guy who had never even heard of professional hitting
  18. Hopefully Jamo is just awful instead of mind alteringly horrifying tonight.
