  1. I really think this continuing will get Jed canned. Yes the Ricketts only really care about maximizing profit, but you still need a competitive team to that. Hoyer isn’t paid build 100 win World Series contenders, thats true, but he is paid to build 81-90ish win teams that can make the wildcard or atleast be in the running for the whole season. You need to be in the race and have hope to sell to max out profits. This team isn’t that, Ricketts can’t be cool with a team that sold contending all winter in reality contending only for the worst record in baseball at this rate.
  2. Yeah this team will be all but eliminated from the wildcard by July. Horrible team.
  3. Opponent pitching has no impact on how dogass this lineup is tbh.
  4. Its wild to think about the money in future contracts they’ve lit on fire this year. Complete opposite of turning it up in a walk year lol.
  5. I don’t care how many pitchers are healthy, you are not winning baseball games batting a player of as poor quality as Suzuki in the major leagues.
  6. Lets worry about beating bad teams before beating the Dodgers. Current roster is more likely to compete for the draft lottery than the division
  7. 90 losses is probably enough to get rid of the front office yeah?
  8. When Im having a bad day I remember that Suzuki is in the last year of his contract and I never have to watch him look absolutely befuddled that at a mediocre curveball ever again.
  9. I would do unspeakable things to get Taillon DFA’d.
  10. Yeah exactly, if the offence doesn’t play to its true talent level, nothing we can realistically acquire will make enough difference to save the season, even if Boyd and Cabrera come back and pitch well.
  11. If your takeaway from witnessing Wicks and Taillon attempt to pitch in May was “we need a star bat”, wtf man.
  12. Seiya even being that high is unbelievable. He has been horrifyingly awful.
  13. horsefeathers you Jordan Wicks. I hate that you get to waste the privilege of playing baseball.
  14. I was very down on Shota entering the year given what he did last year. Yeah he looked better in the early season but him turning into a pumpkin as the weather gets warmer ties in to his pitching style. He gives up way to many bombs, and a fly ball guy on a team with this much investment in the defence is just wasteful unless he actually limits runs.
  15. Thats valid, I just don’t see a world where Imanaga gets back to being playable this year, and with how many set backs Steele has had, expecting anything from him this year is too hopeful for me personally. To me he’s firmly in the Horton category of “anything we get out of his career is a cool bonus”, but planning around him being available at any point for any length of time would be irresponsible by Hoyer.
  16. The rotation is so bad that 1 TOR arm isn’t making a dent in the problem. Realistically this team needs 4 starting pitchers to remain in the race. Cabrera and Boyd will be back somewhat soon, but that still leaves us with only 3 major league starters, and who knows where Cabrera is at, he was really bad before the IL stint.
  17. That answer probably depends on someones age right? Like yeah the Cardinals have had good seasons recently too, but other than 2015, St Louis and the Cubs haven’t really been good at the same time. If you’re under 25, the Brewers have been dunking on the Cubs for a greater portion of your life than anybody else.
  18. I wonder if Hottovy has mentioned that getting absolutely crushed on every single pitch isn’t the desired outcome to those two dorks.
