  1. Watching games that don’t involve the Cubs and it looks like a completely different sport.
  2. Gotta be brutal in the clubhouse. Living with a level of professional failure 99% of people can’t even fathom must be awful.
  3. What could they possibly do? Unless they can pull 4 MLB replacement level or better starters out of thin air tomorrow, theres nothing that can fix this.
  4. So the next two are guaranteed Ls. Hard to see an end coming, 100 losses might actually happen.
  5. No way am i not watching, fully in the horrified fascination phase. Cabrera being bad/getting injured removes any semblance of a stopper. We could be facing a historic stretch of futility.
  6. I was pretty bummed out about missing 6 weeks of games in June and July for work. Heavy emphasis on was.
  7. Damn i read Shota wtf. I got eyesight as bad as our batters i guess
  8. Unfortunately somebody has to pitch, obviously 29 other teams wouldn’t even have a pitcher like him rostered.
  9. I don’t like the guy but its hard to blame the manager when he’s got 1 big leaguer in the rotation and a hyperbolically bad lineup
  10. I mean yeah, they were really, really good for 23 games. Set that aside and this team is the Cleveland Spiders.
  11. Well atleast I don’t have to see Happ swing today. At least attempt to be competitive guys.
  12. I wish I was that optimistic about anything. 20-3 can’t offset being truly putrid for the rest of the year.
  13. This basically my point. Yeah they’ve shown a high ceiling, but the overwhelming majority of the time the lineup is the worst in baseball. They are physically incapable of basic professionalism at the plate more often than not.
  14. Wonder what the top prospects for the first round of the draft are looking like in 2027.
  15. Gonna be fascinating to see the fallout in the offseason after a losing season with high expectations.
  16. Happ is probably a great guy but I can’t find the words to describe how happy i am that we don’t have to suffer through the obscene atrocity of watching him attempt to make contact with major league pitching today.
  17. I would sell my soul to never see Happ or Suzuki step in the box ever again. Its a disgrace to the concept if professional sports to pay them to hit a baseball.
  18. If Happ sat until the heat death of the universe i would not complain
  19. Its a shame to see Happ go out like this but he’s beyond incapable of hitting major league pitching.
  20. The defence of Ian Happ on this weeks episode of the podcast aged like the firefighters that responded to Chernobyl.
  21. I agree with you on the 23 game period of being the best, I just don’t see a way they can survive rolling out a starting rotation with one guy who still would be there if everyone was healthy (Shota) and he finished 2025 completely unplayable and hasn’t looked good lately. Lineup has been horrible but lately but they seem to just be streaky.
  22. It is absolutely a huge assumption to figure that a team missing its top 4 starting pitchers will be buyers at the deadline.
  23. At this point the idea the Cubs will be buys at the deadline is a huge assumption. Through 50 games we have a 23 game stretch of an elite team, sandwich’d by 27 games of potentially the worst team in the NL. Could go either way.
