  1. He has an out clause after two years so it's not like it was a horribly stupid move. It's not like he'd exercise that clause. He did say he wants to remain a Cub for the rest of his life. Are you for real? Do you seriously think that he would turn down a bunch more money so that he could be a Cub for two more years? If the team is winning then YES, he stays. If the team is not then he probably would choose to leave. I'll just leave it at the fact that the out clause is there. He and his agent probably had to give up a bunch to have it there. It was probably also part of the reason why the negotiations went so long. A person doesn't go through this much trouble if they plan on staying if they have a couple of good to great years and are more valuable on the open market.
  2. Please take notes and pictures/video. :)
  3. ... You might want to look at the statements that he has made about the Cubs over the last two or so years to figure out why he doesn't like Mark.
  4. Amazing. How the...wow... 10th in the AL among 1B in AVG 6th in the AL among 1B in OBP 4th in the AL among 1B in SLG 10th, 6th, and 4th and he's somehow an All Star? I don't think he belongs. The justification I heard on the radio today is that he is the leader of the team. And the team has the best record in baseball. Of course, this was in between comments about trading Wood for Carl Crawford and moving Burnitz to center so Hairston could play right so take it with a grain of salt.
  5. There was a period at the end of the initial link that made it not work. That one should work correctly.

  8. HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No Jeter. YES!!
  9. The 6 are: Edmonds, Rolen, Eckstein (Starters), Pujols (DH), Carpenter, and Isringhausen.. Congrats to the All-Stars. I cant believe Eckstein is a starter of an ASG.. Lee shoulda been the leader at 1st.. So yeah.. I doubt Bernie would be lying but I'm still gonna watch to make sure it's correct. from that thread... i can understand taking pujols over lee. but THREE lees??? I can't. I realize he has a bias but still. For one game this year how could you not select Derrek?
  10. Well then he would immediately become Dusty's leadoff hitter, since we all know speed is more important than the plate discipline and the ability to get on base. He will actually be a very good leadoff guy if he keeps progressing the way that he has. He is starting to learn the strike zone and how to work the count. As noted, he is extremely fast and he can definately make things happen on the base paths. Imagine an outfield of him, Baldelli, and Crawford. Absolutely nothing should fall in between them.
  11. Amazing. How the...wow...
  12. Why? Because they call it how they see it? Are you kidding me? They booed a guy that is hitting over .300 because he made an error. You know, it doesn't surprise me at all that they would rather play on the road than at home. I know I wouldn't want to play in front of fans that boo whenever someone makes a mistake.Yeah, let's all sit in our chairs and not say anything. That was a big mistake by Walker. I personally believe the boos to Corey are warranted. So, what does the booing accomplish? It motivates the athletes to not be dumb and make outs. Perhaps Blanco deserves some boos. He makes plenty of outs.See. Walker learned from the booing. He would have made another error right there if he wasn't put in his place by the fans.
  13. I hope we don't pinch hit for Sergio. The way this is turning out, we need to save as much pitching as we can.

  15. I know I would walk him to get to a guy that is hitting 150something.have you not been watching all year? those are the guys who kill us. Yep. He killed us right there.

  18. Man, the crowds are Wrigley are really starting to piss me off.
  19. What in Corey's past makes you think that? Has he ever done that before?
  20. Good job. That would have been one of my highlights too.
  21. No. He has not been above the high 80s from what I have heard so far this year.
  22. Hey Fred, could you post the team's offensive stats so far this year and last year on the last game of a series? I am curious to see if the totals are lower than the overall average due to the way that Dusty always seems to configure the lineup. I'm not even sure you could do that....
  23. He has looked better the last week or so. He hasn't gotten the greatest results but he is working the count a lot better (3 out of his 4 at bats went to full counts today and he got screwed on the one call) and he is laying off some pitches that he was swinging at in the past. He still has a way to go but he is starting to show some signs of life.
