They faced him on May 23rd and got 6 hits and 4 runs in 5-2/3 innings in a win. Meanwhile, Glendon also pitched in this game and gave up 1 run over 8 innings on 5 hits and 1 walk. You can view the articles from that game here if you wish to do so. This series should give us a pretty good indication if the Cubs really have any sort of shot or not. Go Cubs! -
I'm going to say no to Griffey unless the Reds eat a portion of that contract. I'm still wouldn't be too excited about having him under contract when he is 39...

Which is why Dempster is up in the bullpen. Dempster will make it interesting. :? I find it funny how you bash us for saying bad things about Macias/Neifi yet you say this about a pitcher that has done a very good job this year.

You a doctor? What's the point of this comment. It is well known that Kerry is going to need surgery this offseason. Are you just trying to get under his skin because he is a Cards fan? You don't think Hendry's has consulted w/ doctor's?? Some of the nitpicking of the Cub organization and incessant griping is amazing here. Are you kidding me? Like the Cubs have never made horrible decisions involving pitchers before? Like all of last year? I think that it is pretty fair to doubt their decisions involving the handling of injuries.

Not at all. Many on this board agree with you. According to Hendry, several specialists have told them that he can't do any more damage to his arm if he only throws one inning at a time and less than 35-40 pitches. Has Hendry consulted w/ the Northside specialist though? :wink: funny.

The nitpicking of Macias and Neifi's a bunch of crap. Macias is a utility player, who hits .300. I have no idea why he and Neifi have become the whipping boys. This team was not built around them. It was built around a couple guys named Wood and Prior. Because they are usually the first bats off the bench and Neifi started for an extended period of time in front of a better hitter. You might also notice that they both walk at among the worst rates in the major leagues. Their batting averages don't show the whole story.

at least he isn't crying like he did after his team embarrased themselves vs. boston What do you expect him to do after the team made it so far and then failed? Laugh in joy? Take it like a man and accept that his team got swept out of the world series instead of blaming anything he could for the losses.
