  1. GO BEARS!! [rant] That's one thing I hate about all of this. Teams getting made to look worse after they play teams that are at full strength at the time, then they sustain injuries, suck for a while, and no one takes it seriously. Example. Panthers beat Patriots 27-17. The only injured Pat at the time? Bruschi. Soon after that, Seymour and Harrison went down along with a bunch of other players. The Patriots team Carolina beat was much better than the 5-4 patchwork team now in assembly. It's the same thing as Notre Dame/Michigan basketball. ND lost to what was then a very good Michigan team on the road by one point. The Wolverines then watched a bunch of players injured, Daniel Horton get suspended for beating his girlfriend, and UM ended up one of the worst teams in the country, destroying ND's RPI rating and helping them get passed over for March Madness. [/rant] Carolina has to play 6-3 Atlanta twice, 6-3 Tampa once and 6-3 Dallas once in their final 5 games. You'll learn a lot about the team in those four games (as well as this one). Michigan never had a really good basketball team last year...
  2. Why are you talking about the Texans and Packers in a BEARS game thread?
  3. That's true. Vikings 21 Packers 14 Two of the Vikings touchdowns are scored on special teams. Either way, my money is on the Packers losing. You should be rooting for the Packers. I know I'm rooting against them. I want that number one pick, REAL badly. Trade down for someone who is desperate enough for Matt Leinart and hopefully get Reggie Bush... There is no way I would ever root for the Packers to win. I am fine with them tying up a ton of cap space in a first overall pick.
  4. Holt, Horn, and McCarnell The first two are must plays.
  5. That's true. Vikings 21 Packers 14 Two of the Vikings touchdowns are scored on special teams. Either way, my money is on the Packers losing.
  6. I don't. When he plays the Falcons win. When he doesn't they lose. OK, maybe some people speak to highly of him, but he is a great QB, IMO. Obviously you haven't watched many games with Schaub at the helm...
  7. Orton and Grossman will make for a pretty good QB battle next summer. I wouldn't mind taking on another experiment late in the draft, but QB isn't going to be addressed this coming offseason. This team is going to win on the strength of defense and the running game. RB is set, both with quality and depth. WR is still filled with holes, but I don't see this team ever being a strong 3 WR offense. I wouldn't be opposed to a WR early, but it would not be a priority in the 1st for me. TE is hit or miss. I can't think of too many great 1st round TE in the league. I don't see a Shockey out there right now. Personally I'd rather wait for a TE in the 2nd or 3rd. FWIW, Orton has a lower QB rating than McNown did during his 1st year. Once Grossman comes back, I'd start Rex and go from there. The Bears will be a predom, 2 WR set, but they don't have two WRs right now. Bradley has to be considered a "?" b/c of his serious injury to his greatest asset, Gage is a #4 WR, Berrian has the ceiling of a #2 WR. Every position is hit or miss to an extent, I don't think TE is any exception. Plus, the few times I've watched UCLA, Lewis has separated himself in a similar manner as Heath Miller did last year. 2 weeks ago Orton had a better QB rating than the "great" vick Can Orton run for 100 yards in a game? I think Vick is WAY overrated anyways...
  8. Saginaw Valley?
  9. I was just thinking about making a comment on that point. The success rate for a first round pick is somewhere in the area of 50%. I bet if you look at tight end, it isn't far off that number.
  10. He was seriously our best reliever for a long time in 2004. I don't know what happened to him, but I hope he figures it out in Texas. Wonder who the player will be. Dusty trotting him out there every day for a couple of months probably didn't help.
  11. What position do you think they should take a defensive playmaker in the first round at? The front 7 is pretty much set. The only position I can even imagine them picking on the first day would be OLB and Hunter has really stepped up and had a great year so far. Plus Lovie said that they aren't going to use a top pick to fill that position when it is going to see the field around half of the game. They could take a cornerback, especially with the fact that Azumah could be lost in free agency. However, Tillman has a ton of potential still and Vasher is a ballhawk that I would like to have on the field as much as possible. You don't use a mid first round pick on a nickleback. You could say a safety but it had better be a pretty special player to take him in the first round and Harris has done a decent job in there. Personally, I think our defense in fine right now, outside of a nickleback if Azumah leaves and some depth at OLB/CB.
  12. I would like to see them go with Lewis in the first and then a wide out guard in the second and third.
  13. You aren't the only one :P
  14. He would.
  15. worst tournament ever What do you have against Maui? It's usually one of the best preseason tournaments in college basketball. Plus it gives us all an opportunity to see Chaminade in action. The fact that it is normally really hot and humid on the court. There are always a ton of cramps at those games. It's really not fun to watch a game when half of the starting lineups go down with cramps at some point.
  16. That was an awesome segment. That picture you posted was right when he was saying that was where he got a cramp. :D
  17. I have a little more hope for this after reading that quote. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap/NFL_20051113_SF@CHI
  18. worst tournament ever
  19. Am I the only one that would rather trade for Lugo? (besides the Braves (whose front office I trust more than that of the Cubs))
  20. I knew they weren't real the second I saw them. On topic, the fact that Gammons and Bruce Levine said this is definately going to happens means he will sign with the Mets right?
  21. Crawford has also been surrounded by a pretty bad offense before this year.
  22. The NFL Network is awesome. It would be a very wise move if the MLB put together a similar type channel. And the NFL Network does have an hour long recap of the best game every week. They often fill time each day showing the games of the week from past seasons.
