  1. I gave up on '06 long ago so this really doesn't bother me much. Do the Dodgers rank in the top 5 of most messed up organizations? They have to be close.
  2. Why do people keep posting these crappy rumors from mlbtraderumors.com?
  3. Is Reggie over 300 yards yet? He hasn't been in the game most of the time.
  4. That was far too close of a game for Illinois against Xavier...
  5. Tillman is a pretty good CB. He's in the top 1/2 of the league's #1 CBs (i.e. the guys who cover the #1 WR primarily). In the NFL everyone gets beat. He's not giving up TDs, and he's been there in coverage most of the time, just catches have been made. The fact that he has been going against wideouts that have been burning corners all year probably has something to do with it as well.
  6. No, but by only backing "your" players on this forum, you're definately inferring that anyone else is pointless, therefore we most surely "have to get" Player X. That's my entire point - you can't approve the best canidates only, you have to be selective. I'm not implying anything so important to start an argument about, I just think you're too picky man! I'd just like to remind you that in naming "his" players, he was simply answering the question you asked him. So, essentially, you're saying that by answering your question, he's saying anybody else is pointless. I also would like to point out how counterproductive the line "you can't approve the best candidates only, you have to be selective." So...we're *not* supposed to want the best options? Huh? Sorry, let me simplify: I think CPatt is too critical and selective in players he views to be possible future-Cubs. My point was that he needs to be more realistic, and open to the idea that an upgrade is an upgrade, and to take what you can get, especially in a market like this. I've supported players like Juan Pierre and Jacque Jones, two players I view as improvements, and both have been lambasted by Cpatt, among others. I am almost positive that he is hardly the only member of this forum that would not be all that excited if the Cubs got either of those players.
  7. Tisk tisk tisk Tim. No fake swearing using symbols. :D
  8. What? All of the players I listed at first have been mentioned multiple times in rumors, some(in the case of Bradley and Wilkerson) directly to the Cubs. AJ Burnett has been linked to the Cubs in the media, you think we'll sign him? Manny Ramirez has been linked to Seattle, you think they'll sign him? You have to be realistic. For crying out loud, I never said that we HAD TO GET, or WILL GET any of those players. Where did I say that? DEAR GOD MAN, KEEP YOUR DESIRES IN CHECK!
  9. This thread is quite amusing. Come on CPatt, he's REALLY fast.
  10. Here is a picture of the latest BA issue. It should be on bookshelves around the 4th of December. http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/5756/picture0016uz.jpg http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/1825/picture3xi.jpg As you can see, along with the top 10 listings there is also a page long article on the rise and fall of the Cubs farm system. I haven't read the article yet but it looks interesting.
  11. It's pretty hard to throw downfield when your QB is off the mark by 10 yards...
  12. Does anybody else find this pretty funny?
  13. The thing is, do you think that we can survive his lack of performance in the playoffs or against teams like the Steelers? I certainly don't. That's why I want them to at least think about changing QBs when Rex is healthy. If maddox is still starting, we'll crush the steelers Ben is starting tomorrow :P
  14. The thing is, do you think that we can survive his lack of performance in the playoffs or against teams like the Steelers? I certainly don't. That's why I want them to at least think about changing QBs when Rex is healthy.
  15. The thing is, Orton hasn't helped us win at all. If you put a dummy back there that just handed the ball off every and threw an interception a game, you wouldn't have much of a difference. If you take out that screen pass to Thomas Jones, Orton threw for 93 yards or 3.4 per pass attempt. That's just horrible.
  16. Was that supposed to disprove my point? I'm not impressed. Kyle will be lucky to sniff anywhere near 17 TDs. I think he was just backing your statement with stats. You know, those things that those people who back Orton don't use. :)
  17. Ugh, I get that game and Miami vs Oakland. What a horrible selection.
  18. I have always backed Peanut but I am beginning to wonder. He isn't consistant enough in coverage. He has gotten burned way too many times this year.
  19. I love how those fools on the halftime show were saying all of the problems the Bucs are having on offense are because of their line. Yeah, cause the Bears haven't factored into that at all.
  20. He's approaching dump truck full of cash status. Other than that, not sure off the top of my head. He got a 4 or 5 year deal last year after that game against the Giants.
  21. In case people didn't hear about this, the Bears resigned Eddie Berlin to a 2 year deal and Bernard Berrian pulled his hammy again. He will be out this week but they didn't say how much longer after that.
  22. That's a really odd group to define as elite. I think he was picking out the best closer options on the FA market last year. Last year, nobody made out with a good closer in the FA market without getting ripped off. Gagne wasn't available last year.
  23. See Cpatt? Even the mods are onto you. brb getting own material By "getting" do you mean paying someone to think it up for you? That's a good one, how much do you want for it? This is no place for that sort of talk. We'll discuss it on aim.
  24. Ironic isn't it? Do you think if Nomar was more 'motivated' he could have avoided such an injury? And here we are two years after the trade, counting on Murton and watching backwards Ramon take 55 out of town. Nomar has one of the most intense workout regimens in baseball. I think SI did a story on a while back. Good point. Don't try to piggyback his thoughts. Right. CPatterson never has an original thought. Gimme a break. See Cpatt? Even the mods are onto you. brb getting own material By "getting" do you mean paying someone to think it up for you?
