There would be blowback from passing on Schaefer. He’s the consensus top prospect. Hagens may not even be the BPA at #3 and might not come off the board until #5.

Just going off of my own observation here, it seems like pitchers historically tend to have the advantage when making their debuts. I would love to see some actual numbers on this. I would send him against the Mets without much concern.
I like Frondell a lot too. The only concern I have is he probably slots best as a winger and unless the Hawks are absolutely sold that he’s the BPA at 3 they probably take a true center like Hagens.
