  1. Holy S thank God Navarro was on 2nd. He may be slower than Geo.
  2. Damn. Well at least he has a good shot of inducing another dp ball.
  3. It was the right move. It was the 9th inning and he got the leadoff man on first as the winning run. I'd rather have Guzman than Aramis pulling a plow. Right move then, but really hurts each time Guzman comes to the plate, and maybe will make a game-costing error at 3B. The odds weren't very high that he would get one AB. To get another one it probably has to go 13-14 and there will be bigger problems by that point than having Cristian Guzman batting.

  5. I wonder how much better Hart could be if someone introduced him to a weight room.
  6. Aaron Cook for MVP!!! What a play by Tejada!
  7. That stuff is oddly entertaining even though I typically wouldn't like goofiness from analysts. I think that's the best thing he has going for him. He's okay as an analyst. Some times he has really good points, some times he just uses conventional cliche's. As Ping said he does ramble at times.
  8. was he the guy that scored the 100 point basket? I have no idea why I would remember this but I believe he did. I like that Ski included the sponsor in the thread title.
  9. Share if ya got some time Go to: http://www.golfdigest.com/instruction/ and check out Swing Rx stuff along with the other tips they have. A lot of it is simple but I think it may help. One suggested to have the front of your left hand facing the target rather than how I usually position my grip where the logo on my glove is facing right of the target. Another was from Annika Sorenstam where you put you keep your left hand in front of you and bring your right hand back like you would with your swing. When you bring your right hand down, it should meet your left right in front of your body. If your hands meet or clap together left of your center line (too far forward), you're opening up your shoulders too much at impact. I've just been doing that a little bit today, trying to force it and it feels better. The key will be maintaining it while actually striking a ball. She also suggests a wider stance to avoid a slice with your driver. I hear you bhogg. I don't expect to knock them straight every time, I just need to eliminate my slice and get a little consistency. I have no slice with any of my irons, but a nasty one with my driver. I strike the ball solid every time, if I could just at least get it to a straight push, I would be able to adjust for it a little.
  10. You shouldn't be able to do three years of coke while taking all that time off and immediately be this good, it's outlandish Don't forget about heroin.
  11. Must we be subjected to Reggie Jackson every year and just completely ignore what's happening on the field? He better be gone when Hamilton comes up again.
  12. It's just not right. You shouldn't be able to take 3 years off from baseball and working out, get 50 freaking AB's in A ball and immediately be a .900 OPS guy in the majors then put on that kind of a show. Is he the most naturally talented player in the game?
  13. I just need some extra work with the driver and on the putting green. My iron game has really come along quickly. I'm consistently hitting shots accurately with nice trajectory from 5-iron through my wedges. Just read some tips on golf digest that hopefully will help keep me from opening up with my driver and hitting everything right. Excited to try them out on the range tomorrow.
  14. As a Vikings fan it kind of makes me cringe. I don't see the Packers allowing it to happen. And if he were given an unconditional release, I'm not sure if the Vikings would go after him unless they were completely sure he was 100% committed.
  15. Yeah and Lou said he would use him how they were planning on using Gallagher, middle relief, longer if needed.
  16. Lou said the order of the rotation will be Lilly, Z, Dempster, Harden and Marquis after the break.
  17. Cubs lineup according to The Score: SS- Theriot RF- Fukudome 1B- Lee 3B- Ramirez C- Soto CF- Edmonds 2B- DeRosa LF- Johnson P- Zambrano
  18. In fairness, the national media has talked just as much about how he hasn't been throwing his slider lately and has become a two-pitch pitcher.
  19. You have to look at it objectively. The guy made 13 starts over the previous two years and pitched a total of 72 innings. What do you think the theme would be here if the Cardinals acquired Harden? "Yeah he's good when he's healthy but he's never healthy, he'll be on the DL within a month, etc..." When the Brewers acquired C.C. there was a lot of the "it's likely to be a wash because Sheets will get hurt anyways." And Sheets has a much better injury history than Harden. From our perspective it's a very good deal because of what we gave up and the possible reward. But it's fair to have a lot of skepticism over his health.
  20. We can also look at it as since MacPhail left. That may be just as significant. True.
  21. For all of his negatives, he's an extremely hard-working guy who seems respected by other GM's. He's made some major mid-season acquisitions in '03, '04, '08 when we were in contention and each time he hasn't really given up much. Since Dusty left town I think he's done a very good job overall. Plus I think it would be really fun to have a few beers with him.
  22. Outstanding. For all of the knocks (and rightfully so at times) Hendry gets, we know he gets a deal done when the team is in contention and it almost always puts us in a better position to win without hurting us long-term. He and Beane really seem to work well together. As has been said it's a good deal for both teams. I would have thought Oakland could have maybe gotten more in return, but they do have 3 pieces that are Major League ready. Gallagher is the only one that may really hurt, but that's what you have to give to get such a high reward possibly.
