  1. I also think that Macias batted in case Aram couldn't play in the field if the game went to extras. And that is why he hit for the pitcher.
  2. In response to the explanation of the team (trying to get back on track), this team is tired. The "fire" that gets people going in the morning is not as strong. We are headed into the "dog days" and they have played 15 straight games with pretty much the same pieces in the lineup. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cubs offense get going on Tuesday after having Monday off. I think that another way to look at this team is that the starting pitching is finally doing what we thought they would all season. They are keeping the Cubs in ballgames. The pen hasn't been consistent but are certainly tired. The pitching is coming around at a good time. When Williamson is activiated, I would expect to see some shakeup in the Pen with more then just 1 or 2 demotions. I would expect roles to be solified by the end of August and then consitency will happen for the september stretch when all Dusty teams seemingly finish strong.
  3. Too bad I am at work or I would listen to the SD sports talk. It is always fun to hear them in a tizzy. This is such a bad trade I have no idea where to begin. Remember in the off season before Sosa was dealt when Park's contract was considered the only one harder to move then Sosa's? I can't believe they found a taker. And WHY would Texas trade starting pitching when they are desparte despite the obvious "lets get rid of him". Just unreal how Baseball is.
  4. Wow, who is feeling worse at this point. Maybe I will come where you are and boo you for creating traffic jams. :D
  5. I always wonder how tiring it is to play baseball when you are at home and the other team has been traveling. The team has no excuse for its lackluster efforts as of late. Err...this 18 game stretch included a road trip to Pittsburgh & St. Louis and then they travelled home ALL without a day off. You work your job 18 straight days with 3 travel days included and see if you are tired at the end of it. Sheesh So, the one day off Arizona has had makes all the difference? Please. How tiring is it to play baseball. I don't remember ever being winded except when I pitched. Most of them also had the All Star break off. Maybe the Astros just have better beds than we do. Ok, no matter the profession, if anyone works 18 straight days (not to mention travels 3 times as well) it would get to you. Not sure what your profession is but I don't want to go to work 18 straight days. And I love my job.

Sheesh I wish my job was to take BP a few hours before gametime, stand motionless in a field for half of 3 hours, sit on a bench for most of the other half, and once in a while swing a bat at a moving ball. That is sooo tough..... So if it so easy then why aren't YOU doing it with much sucess? AGAIN
  7. So it took a full swing for Neifi to get a bunt hit :D WTG

  9. Teams with heart don't let that affect them. So please provide these amazing "heart" stats. Just silly. Being Tired effects EVERYONE no matter how big your heart is. Apparently Prior has no heart cause he threw 115 pitches and gave up the lead cause he was tired. Oh well, the "heart" beats us again
  10. the team is playing like they are tired. As they should be. They have played 15 straight games.
  11. the 0-2 pitch was high past the letters. Glaus just tomahawked it.
  12. so, ummm...the Budweiser Fan Cam is fun..... :)
  13. What I like from Murton's AB was that the 3B was on a 0-2 pitch right after he fouled off a good pitcher's pitch.
  14. Trust me, you don't. It's like watching Gigli. Everyone wanted to watch it to see just how bad it was... then they were kicking themselves after. No that was the Kelly Carkson Movie...
  15. with all these comments on the radio commercials It makes me want to hear just to respect how bad they are.
  16. so is it just me or when the Cubs score first in a Prior start, prior is lights out? He has certainly been on after the 1st batter.
  17. good hustle by Neifi there actually made it close. I think Lee will break out today.
