I was at camp monday. Awesome stuff with the Van and Dance off to start the day. Watched the top Minors guys do baserunning drills. Andreoli is helluva fast. Vogelbach is huge, Almora seemed average speed (probably not dull go). Watched Live BP iwth Russell, Heyward, Soler & Victorino vs Machi and Patton. Soler seemed timid against Machi but he wasn't too wild. Russell seemed to try crowding the plate. Patton was actually fairly impressive. He had a pretty solid slurve type pitch that fooled Victorino (who did switch hit). During the sim part of the BP, Heyward went to the 3-0 and he asked Maddon if he had the green light. Maddon said "Of course you do, every time no need to even ask, see it and hit it". During regular BP (Hank White throwing), Maddon and Heyward worked on the power stroke and he promptly got in and crushed one over the netting in RF (this was field 2). The ball landed almost to the street after the wash area. Funny that there are a ton of ball hawks out there already on a Monday. Overall fun experience. The back fields are much better than trying to squeeze in on Field 1. Definitely a good tip would be to go around the back of the complex and park in those lots since you have access to all 4 Quad fields and the 2 back fields that way. During BP I was 10 feet away. Cool experience
