  1. He was found today in Normal, IL and is being transported back to Chicago.
  2. Especially when you look at the picks for the Bulls. I don't see us going to an all-guard rotation anytime soon.
  3. FBI issued an arrest warrant for Hernandez today on charges of mail fraud.
  4. Wasn't Florida home of the infamous (and hilarious) "Don't tase me bro!" incident as well? Yes, yes it was. I had forgotten about that.
  5. Janoris Jenkins of UF was tasered. At least there are now two universities in the state of Florida that have had players tasered, and FSU isn't by themselves any more. Welcome to the top 1% of 1% that UF players represent!
  6. This has now been said to be completely false. They have Garrity on videotape at Kams, just punching this guy for basically no reason. Oh and Garrity is a 6'6" 310 lineman. What a punk. Let us remember that Ron Zook also took players and marched down to a fraternity and challenged them to a fight while he was with UF. The Zooker can recruit, but neither he or his players will ever be mistaken for Rhodes Scholars.
  7. He's a combo of O.J. Simpson and J.D. McCoy. The result is Tim Tebow.
  8. And expectations are at 10 wins, or else Weis probably gets the ax. Of course, even if he wins 10 games it could get interesting next year when the schedule will be more difficult.
  9. I just don't see the benefit in the current system to playing a team with a pulse. It sucks, but there's just not much to gain there. The benefit comes when you have an idea of what a real team looks like when you hit the bowls. When you're a BCS school, you see 4-6 of those through conference play. OSU begs to differ during the years of back-to-back BCS title game appearances.

  11. Conf. Championship gets you extra practice time for your players and shortens the gap between the regular and bowl seasons. You need to add the team to get the conf. championship Doesnt seem to bother USC year in and year out and the Pac10 did well this year in their bowl games. How's this for expansion. Have ever B10 team play each other instead of just 8. This will get rid of some of those OOC clunkers. Or they could schedule interesting OOC games. Big Ten teams(like other BCS teams) have little incentive to schedule a monster OOC. Take your 1 BCS opponent, 1 middling MAC/C-USA/WAC team, 1 Sun Belt team, and 1 1-AA team. It's the standard BCS schedule. Yeah, but that only works if your BCS opponent is someone with a pulse.

  13. Agreed, but I can't see Pitt leaving the Big East in basketball.
  14. I think his point about having the long layoff before bowl season is valid. I also agree that the Big Ten is not as good as they think they are, and that in general, their clinging to tradition hampers their ability to keep up with the Joneses I would like to think that having a 12th team and playing a championship game would have saved us the embarrassment of seeing OSU get beat down in consecutive BCS title games.
  15. While I think the WR group will look better this year due to Cutler, I think the biggest beneficiary will be Matt Forte. I'm not sold on him being an NFL quality back and thought he might have problems this year. Of course, having to worry about Cutler will keep defenses honest, so he'll have a "transition year" he should have had last year instead of having to be "the man."
  16. He's far too athletic to fail. He may not stick as a QB, but I'll be shocked if he doesn't excel with a team at another position. Here is something most people either already know..............Alabama recruited Tim Tebow. But here's what most people don't know is that Mike Shula/Bama recruited Tim Tebow as a LBer moreso then an offensive player. So there's a chance that somebody COULD therotically take Tebow and switch him to LBer. Not saying it's likely, but you'll never know. And that's supposedly what Urban told Jevan Snead as well.
  17. Two things here: 1. Berry is a better S then Mays and Wright combined. Quite possibly the biggest game changer in college currently. 2. McCoy is a better pure QB than Tebow. The stats lie and say otherwise, but that is mostly due to the UF guys breaking big plays on short throws.
  18. I heard an analyst who thought Melton would be a better pick than Orakpo, based on dollar value. This could be interesting.
  19. I'm guessing Sidbury.
  20. I hate Stephen McGee too. The papers have been reporting this for a couple of weeks, but I tried to just ignore it. Good God, as bad as Johnson and the other guy were at backup last year, they had to take someone.
  21. There isn't a WR who is a good value at this stage. All the top-tier WR are gone already, but there is some possible value later in the draft.
  22. I hope not. I'm not a big fan of smaller receivers. I'm curious where the PSU receiving corps end up. Williams, Butler and Norwood are all available, but none are terribly big. Williams and Butler are likely to start out as returners, while Norwood might be a good 3rd and short receiver (he has incredible hands). We'll see BTW, I need to qualify my earlier comments with my comments here: I dislike taking smaller receivers with higher picks. I think Williams in the 3rd/4th is more of a reach than a Norwood in the 7th/UFA. I like the Norwood idea; I don't like the Williams idea.

  24. Do you really think that Everette Brown would not have been a good fit on the Bears' defense? His strength as a pass rusher and weakness as a run stopper are exactly what a team running a Tampa-2 looks for. Unless Lovie Smith has started to move away from a Tampa-2 Brown would have been a terrific value pick for the Bears in the middle of the second round. I don't think he is enough of a force. He'll excel in a good system, but I don't think he's the player for the Bears team. And I say that as a Bears and FSU homer. If Brown isn't enough of a force to do well in a Tampa-2, then I don't know how he will ever succeed in the NFL; the scheme is tailor made for him. If that's the case then it looks like he is another name that can be added to the list of crappy Florida St. defensive ends. I am curious now. What has changed your mind about Brown's potential in the NFL? When we last discussed his future you were his strongest defender, and now it seems you are even questioning him now. I see him as a 3-4 OLB, and always have.
