That 11-21 record vs the central is the difference between 51-46 and 46-51 if they were played 500 ball. throw in tie breaker losses to every NL wld team and you can stick a fork in them. When will Jed replace the replacement level production from morel and Amaya? 2026? Like the pen he’s no fan of addressing glaring needs.

They only an entire offseason to add reliable pen arms. Biggest problem is they have a dismissal 11-21 record vs the central and have lost the season series to every potential wildcard team. games like last night are why there’s people still on the fence about being an arm away. Too little too late.

Yankees are a logical trade partner. They lack production outside of Soto and Judge and Jed literally built a team around complimentary bats. -2.5 WAA when you subtract Judge and Soto. 5.8 WAA with them. Elite bats. Wish we had one.

What the Heyward and Swanson signings (so far) have taught us is spending $ isn’t inherently bad, spending $ on guys with a lot of their value coming from their glove hasn’t worked for us.

I’d imagine it’d be similar to 04 Red Sox if you replaced the bats of big papi and Manny with Morel and Amaya.

I don’t know if it’s more amazing that our catchers have a combined .465 OPS batting 176 or the fact the Whitesox have even worse numbers across the board.

That’s the thing. Jamo, Happ, Suzuki, Cody, forget Swansons immovable contract are clogging the payroll. All these guys are a solid deadline addition on a World Series contender and nothing more. Imagine the 04 Red Sox minus Big papi and Manny. Mueller Millar Nixon and Damon are nice complimentary players. Jed trying to build around this caliber of players is a one of a kind team building experiment.

Screw OPS and strike out pitchers. Fill your rotation and pen full of sinker ballers with solid defenders up the middle. That’s the winning ticket. Phillies have no clue what they’re doing.

They looked the part in April. They’re the most expensive 88 win ceiling team of all time but how do you make sense of this team wide offensive face plant?

It’s piling on Jed more so than Dansby.

Not surprising. Braves are much smarter organization but if that’s the second highest offer Jed should be fired on the spot for that alone. It’s an overpay but that’s so ridiculous there had to have been a higher offer unless I’m giving Jed too much credit.

Before posting a 5.5 WAR in 2022 his career high was 2.8. I’m curious what the second highest bidder was offering.

If they could put the ball over the fence with runners on more than once every other week BABIP play luck they wouldn’t be 7 games under.

Correas a bad fit for Jed’s Cubs. Too elite. Discount Dansby and Jed’s preference for defensive runs saved in place of OPS was the clincher.
