  1. Sort of, the Dodgers and Phillies have flaws too, the defending World Series champions and the Phillies who lost in 6 to Houston a few years back with the same core. If they get the benefit of the doubt then no reason the cubs shouldn’t either,
  2. Tip of the cap to David Festa. Not much anyone can do vs a stud like him.
  3. Do We or don’t we need a third baseman? I get confused in here.
  4. They definitely won’t come back. Not against that bullpen.
  5. The one thing we’ve been able to count on all year long is the offense slapping around a number 5 right handed starter, the Twins have flipped that upside down the last couple nights.
  6. The pitching staff will be exposed badly without flawless defense like we’ve seen today especially with the amount of contact given up.
  7. Is Festa on the trade block? He must be good since he’s mowing down the cubs lineup. This team needs a dog in the rotation badly.
  8. Dansbys expected wOBA with RISP probably dipped into the .0900’s after the swing but we’ll take it.
  9. That’s a lot of intoxicants to take all at once over a weeknight cubs game. I’ll wait until the 5th inning at least.
  10. It’s only 11 innings in but the cubs have been Remarkably consistent this year, they’ll take 2/3 3/3 3/4 from the bad teams, slap around their bottom of the rotation starters and get blanked by their TOR starters, generally. So far they’ve bucked that trend badly.
  11. Tip your cap to Festa. He been making teams look silly all year.
  12. Outside of 2019 with Daniel Descalso being an automatic out for the first couple months at second base, it’s moot.
  13. A guy with a filthy slider who can locate it away vs Suzuki, what could go wrong,
  14. They’re first in position player bWAR at 26.2, Dodgers are in second place at 21.7. Meanwhile, despite being 14th in team ERA they’re 24th pitching with a 4 bWAR, which makes perfect sense when you adjust for park factors and PCA turning doubles in the gap into routine fly outs and Nico being an acrobat at 2nd base, They’re on pace to jump the 2019 Astros at 44.9 bWAR but it’s obvious a bit early to start bWAR watching. Only third in position player fWAR however.
  15. Baserunning and team defense encompass all of it, not just offense. But they’ve impressive for sure.
  16. Lol CC waits until 9th inning up by 11 with 1 out to make a switch? Why not just let him start the inning?
  17. Amazing contrast to the home run derby on Friday but just as effective.
  18. Nice to the cubs equal their total number of hits with RISP in June in just 3 innings.
  19. Perfect shot onto the green out of the sand trap by Nico.
