    Easily Braves. Even now, despite having watched him for so many years with the Cubs, both before and after the Braves, whenever I think of Greg Maddux in my head, he's in a Braves uniform. I think of that funky mustache from 87 or 88. He looked like a 12 year old kid with a fuzzy lip.

    My first ever trip to Wrigley was in '89. I was 12 years old. Maddux pitched against the Expos that August night and I can still hear the "pop" of the mitt. It was crisp and clear and basically perfect. I know it seems weird, but it's something I'll never forget. Maddux had some zip on his heater back in the day.

    Raines and Trammell --- YES! I'm in the Hawk's corner, too. Typically (not necessarily on NSBB) when I mention those guys as hall of famers, I'm blasted (especially on Dawson).

    Ryno smacked one off the wall that game, if memory recalls. If he'd been on 'roids like a good major leaguer, he'd have had a homer! RIP, Kevin. My mom and I always admired Foster --- always looked like he was having a great time out there.

    I taught Bill James everything he knows. I'm all up in the Santo and Bert for HoF train.

    There aren't that many 3B in the hall, much less on the vet committee. Seems to me that 3B is that position that everyone assumes is a big time player / big time power spot and it just isn't the case.

    Santo and Blyleven should give the HoF voting committee the finger when (or if) they ever get to the podium on induction day.

    Oh, I nail them with more than just this year. I get them with the fact that they've never won an undisputed title -- ever. It's the smart asses that think they are being cute with their remarks that make me mad. I can take a good bit of ribbing and for the most part, I'll joke about the Cubs and their failures.

    Arkansas here. Right away I got the jokes, etc. I said, " so who's your team? The Razorbacks?" They say, "HELL YEAH!" I say, "Yeah, me too. You do realize they've won jack poop in their history, right?" That got most of them. The actual baseball fans were quieted with logic.

    I like your thinking, but it'll never happen. Hank Steinbrenner had an article in the Sporting News that suggested putting the top 4 records from each league in the post season -- no more of this winning 83 games and getting in mess. I very much agree with him there.

    I was asked to start this game, so here I is. I wish I had lots of funny pictures, etc, but I just don't have the time. If I had the time, I don't know if I'd have the effort. The Cubs send out their ace --- Rich Harden. The Dodgers send some guy I've never heard of. There is no doubt in my cub loving heart and mind that the Cubs will win this game. Go get 'em, Rich. Make us proud. Let's bring this series back to Wrigley!!!!!! *edit: what the heck happened to the cuss word filter??
