Candyman has agreed to deal with the Reds.

Cubs aren't getting Yamamoto. Mooney and Sharma believe the Cubs won't get into that bidding war.
  3. s2obed
So now we're upset because of the secretness of his free agency? It sucks as a fan and for journalists but if that's what him and his agent want, then that's their right. I won't think any less of him for it.

The Athletic doesn’t say they’re out on Ohtani but the fact that they say they are pivoting says enough for me. Maybe Jed is just pissed info got leaked? Jed loses leverage once other teams know Cubs are out.

One year of Soto for probably 2 top 100 prospects + more? No, thanks.
  6. s2obed
Jay on Soto now? Might be good news on the Ohtani front if that’s true.
  7. s2obed
This just sounds like speculation. They’re still in it though.
  8. s2obed
Yea, nobody knows what Ohtani wants but LAD has a ton of money, has continued to win for the past decade, and is close to Japan, plus he probably already lives in LA or that area. Glad to hear the Cubs are still in though and seem to be all in on him.

Hope this gets done soon. Get the other Cubs deals going!

Happy Ross is gone but didn’t expect this. From all accounts the players loved him. Managers of this caliber don’t always become available so I get it. Played it just like they did with Renteria/Maddon.

Sources: Cubs part ways with game strategy coach Craig Driver and bullpen coach Chris Young -John Heyman

Love seeing the top teams getting eliminated. Hope the Braves and Dodgers are next. Let’s go underdogs!
  13. s2obed
All you have to do is get in. Pretty much anyone can win. Wish the Cubs had gotten in, horsefeathers.

Levine says Cubs are going to do what they can to trade for Alonso.
  15. s2obed
Little is nasty, thanks Ross for keeping him on the bullpen bench when we needed him.
  16. s2obed
I know it doesn’t mean anything but it’s always cool to see the young guys get in the lineup the final game of the season.
  17. s2obed
Just asked Rogers if he thinks Ross will be gone. Says no, doesn’t think so. horsefeathers my life.
  18. s2obed
Is he here next year? Gomes was unbelievable.
  19. s2obed
Ross better be gone (I know doubtful)
  20. s2obed
They actually made some decent moves at the deadline. Their bullpen is pretty good as well.
  21. s2obed
Dbacks might get swept in Houston. Cubs just needed another win man.
  22. s2obed
I think the Cubs were their own most difficult opponent.
  23. s2obed
If Counsell is available this offseason and Jed doesn’t get him…
  24. s2obed
Small sample size but I think mostly everyone except Ross was screaming to give Canario ABs.
  25. s2obed
Cubs pretty much did theirselves in obviously.
