Why? He isn’t even stretched out, probably not even 100%. I’m good with him being back. The only sure starter in the rotation next year is Steele.

Oh yea, I mean they have to play their regulars thru the end of the season otherwise they’re sitting for 5 days off. Braves have a 1-8 squad who make it look easy most nights. It’s not 1 or 2 guys having to carry the team. I can see why Swanson or anyone on the Cubs would be ‘gassed.’ That’s a huge load to carry on your back in comparison to the Braves who have 5 dudes with 30+ homers.

I asked Jesse Rogers last night on Twitter and he answered and said the players are quiet but aren’t somber by any means. They seem fine for now I guess.

Offense has to keep tacking on runs. Unfortunately, no lead is safe with the state of the bullpen.

Hoyer didn’t do enough at the deadline. And Ross wanted to reward the guys who got them where they are now. Both bad moves. One thing I loved about Maddon is he knew how to rest his players and keep them fresh. Granted we don’t have any star bench/role players but riding his top guys to end the season is about to bite him in the ass.

This team is done barring a drastic turnaround. They also only hold a tiebreaker over the Giants. Dbacks, Marlins, and Reds will get in even if they end up tied at the end for WC3.

Jed went out and got Candy. He was pretty much the top available bat the deadline if I’m not mistaken.

He didn’t build enough pitching depth. Tons of relievers were available at the deadline and he stood pat. Ross had no choice but to ride his top arms in the pen.
