  1. The first sport that gets competent officiating will become GOATed
  2. Excited for this game. This is a good Brewers team and a great test for this ball club.
  3. I would make a very competitive offer for Garrett Whitlock. I know the Cubs have a great bullpen but this would give them another big time weapon back there. He also won't cost much from a prospect standpoint and only has a $4.5 million salary. Jokes on the Dodgers - they paid $18 million for Scott and the Cubs could get someone better for a fraction of that price. Also controllable through '26 and if he plays well, club options in '27 and '28. Imagine: Pomeranz/Whitlock/Keller/Palencia with Hodge, Pressly, Flexen on standby. That's a dominant bullpen For a major need like starting pitching and maybe a right handed bat, I'd go elsewhere. Gallen would be at the top of my list but that would cost a bit.
  4. Assad, although granted he did miss some time last year too from injury
  5. It is kind of crazy to think that the Cubs are without 3 of their starting pitchers from last year and still having this much success. If they were healthy, this would be the best team in the league, record wise, by at least a few games
  6. Hopefully Assad can come back at some point and give them some good innings, along with a trade acquisition
  7. I hope that missed challenge doesn't come back to bite them
  8. Everyone says, we don't know what we'd do without Taillon this season. Which is true. But where would this team be without Matt Boyd? What a signing that was. Justin Steele-ish production all year
  9. Got lucky on that strike call lol that was like a foot outside
  10. I know Counsell hates bunting but I don't see how that isn't the right move at this juncture of the game. Especially with how good the bullpen is playing. Now the inning is over
  11. I agree completely, but I've noticed that they keep Cade consistently in that 75-88 range for pitch count since he's been here. Maybe still easing him in so he isn't fatigued come October. I wish they at least kept him in to finish the 6th though
  12. If I had to pick Ian Happ's speed for MLB The Show 25 I'd give him 20/100. He's a solid player that does a lot of things well but...athleticism is not it lol
  13. Yeah, a lefty winning potential back-to-back cy youngs is pretty wild. Although Kris Bubic might give him a run for his money this year.
  14. I'd take Skenes. Given his age, he's not even close to his peak performance and that's a frightening thought. Although Skubal is unreal too
