  1. Sure, but you still don't go to Pressly there. You go to literally anyone else.
  2. I don't blame Counsell for the performance, I blame him for the decision to go to Pressly. I would agree with you if Pressly had consistently been performing throughout this season but he hasn't. You don't put a guy like that in in a one run game, ever. It's just common sense. He's a guy who eats innings in the 6th or 7th when your up 4 with a very short leash. Those are the high leverage situations where our lack of power arms fails us. Overall, I like what he's done with the bullpen but its dumb mistakes like that that take away opportunities to scrap out a win or too. We can argue about how much a manager actually affects overall win loss records throughout a season and I think that is one of the ways they do.
  3. No I dont think so to be honest. Counsell isnt bad. He does a good job but he makes absolute bone headed decisions with the bullpen sometimes. Like Pressly yesterday for example.
  4. The face of the matter is, the Cubs will not win the division if they do not add an ace caliber pitcher, a mid rotation pitcher, a first division 3rd baseman and a legit bench bat. The Brewers are a superior organization in every aspect except money. Jed and Tom piss their pants anytime they might have to use that advantage.
  5. Can the Dodgers stop sucking ass against the Brewers?
  6. Misorowski being in the all star game is a joke
  7. The way MLB teams have been developing pitchers with different pitch shapes and biomechanics is really interesting to me. I'm eager to see what Zombro can do with some of these arms.
  8. You know what, I agree. That's a much better way to look at it than how I was thinking about it.
  9. I think he's at 7 right now for me. Cassie Mo Baller Wiggins Rojas Alcantara Long Conrad
  10. Same here haha. I drive by that field all the time. I live down in Tucson but I'm up in Glendale all the time for work. Anyway ive been loving the early returns on Cabada and De La Cruz. Really hoping at least one of these SS's we have signed out of the IFA pool turns into an super prospect. The system desperately needs some star power right now.
  11. Yeah we were touching on that a bit during the draft. I think a lot of the top 250 guys have major NIL deals on the table now a days. Football and Basketball have kinda of matured in the sense that we know how NIL is working in college, not so much with college baseball yet especially since the draft systems are so different. I'm curious to see how signing HS seniors goes industry wide this year.
  12. Ive come down to i trust DK but odd is the right word. Im just struggling to see the high upside in any of these picks outside or Conrad and Hartshorn. Maybe this was a play to fill the system with higher floor guys with a look ahead to what should be a stronger 2026 draft class? Maybe this is a draft filling a longer term vision?
  13. Totally fair. I just really hate the Kepley pick. And even though Conrad has grown on me, im still extremely skeptical there. Guess we will find out in 5 years.
  14. The Conrad pick has grown on but yeah first impressions of this class are not positive.
  15. His signing demands must be ridiculous. Bauer will benefit from college though imo. I said it earlier but he has 1-1 potential with that fastball. Just needs to throw more strikes and develop the secondary offerings
  16. I wonder if this is just the first year that we are seeing the effects of NIL money on college baseball programs. It's taken a little bit to get there but teams probably have budgets now that football and basketball has been sorted out with a lot of schools.
  17. Its a fair hypothesis. I thought that same thing when they first started doing that a couple classes ago.
  18. Ive been cool with how our pitchers have been developing. Especially this second wave we have coming through starting with Wiggins, Gallagher and Sanders but this just seems like such a weird strategy.
  19. Hmm why not. Sounds like he could be a high leverage reliever if he can get healthy
  20. The more defensive minded catchers the better imo. If just one of them pops offensively you can have that position solved internally for cheap.
  21. Id trade Wicks and Brown before Wiggins to be honest.
  22. That's fair. For a 6th rounder guys will have issues. Cubs seem really confident in their medical teams evaluation of guys and we have had success with guys coming back from injury.
  23. Josiah Hartshorn-OF Love this. One of the mocks earlier this week mentioned the Cubs loved him as a potential 2nd round guy,
