    Hate to say it, but his career with the Cubs is probably done. That looked like his knee exploded and the way he reacted wasnt good. Im not expecting him back at all next year now. Feel awful for the kid but catcher is a position we will need to address again next season now.

    What makes the collapse bad isnt necessarily just the team. Its more the fact that this is a top 3 market thats making money hand over fist and they have the nerve to cry poor while upping ticket prices, concession prices and the overall fan experience. Then when its time to reinvest in the team and actually sign guys who will win games TR crys about the luxary tax and Jed says "yes Mr. Ricketts ill save you some money for a little morsel of bread". Jed has to be the biggest weasel in all of sports, a spineless roach of the highest order and his next man up Carter Hawkins isnt any better. Just fails upwards despite doing nothing useful because he brownnoses his way to jobs. We as fans were conned by TR. He got his WS and he will ride that forever and continue to put out mediocre products on the field to save a buck and line his pockets. I mean a family of 4 cant even afford to go to a game anymore without spending an arm and a leg and this is the garbage we get every year now.

    The game was over in the first inning after the Kirk single. This teams only chance at winning is to pitch a shutout and get it to extras with a ghost runner and bunt twice.

    There isnt a single player on this team that looks like they even remotely care. We will get another mundane bs excuse from Counsell with zero accountability after this latest loss and go into tomorrow heading towards another loss.

    Who was the last international pick the Cubs signed and developed that turned into a good player? Contreras? Mo Baller and Rojas both look food right now I guess

    The Arod comparisons he got when he was signed didnt help either. Hes developing into a goid prospect. He looks like a future major league player in some capacity. Maybe not a star but a quality SS.

    What do you mean? This is everything TR wanted. It was perfect for him. Extend his yes man that helps him line his pockets and keeps payroll low while the team looks good. Then when they miss the playoffs he still gets to keep him for another few years and get more money in his trust fund
