  1. Hoping for a Cruz breakout this year. I need a low level guy to replace Christian Hernandez now. He needs to stay healthy this season and I can see him having a big developmental year this year.
  2. Id like to have Conforto on the bench because of the power. Not expecting much out of him though. Could go either way on McCormick or Carlson.
  3. Cabada kinda feels like one of those guys who could have elite plate discipline. Really excited to see what he can do this year. I know I keep talking about him but hes exciting. I think Jason's placing of him is right where I would put him as well. I think he will be pushing for top 10 this season. Big fan of Southisene. His offensive style reminds me of the IF version of Kepley for the Cubs right now (lazy comp I know) . Hope he put on some muscle this offseason and the power starts to show up.
  4. Anyone on University of Arizona's roster worth watching this year? Usually I'm up to date on their guys but I havent paid as much attention this year to who they have. Trying to get to a few of their games in March.
  5. That's a good point. I'm wondering if it will affect a lot of high schoolers as well. I imagine a lot of them will be leaning college ball at this point with the CBA uncertainty. Plus I expect the NIL impact on the draft to increase this year too.
  6. I think they view Mo Baller's bat as special. All the reports we have read throughout the past couple years have indicated that they are hesitant to move him in any deal. Plus, if we dont extend Seiya we can replace the DH spot for cheap in the long term with him.
  7. Id give it a B+. Idk why but when I look at the roster, it just feels one bat short. I think this is a contender for sure and I love the pitching staff. Jed did a great job this offseason and this is the first time I can recall where I loved every move he made. He finally addressed the bullpen with some velocity and got us some vets we can utilize/trust to start the year and fill in the gaps with internal arms as injuries occur and rest is required for some guys.
  8. I just dont know where they will find the time to ease Mo into catching at the MLB level. Kelly and Amaya will have those starts on lockdown for a while. I guess injury is always possible but hopefully that doesnt occur.
  9. Good year to have 4 picks in the top 100. I expect another pitching heavy draft for the Cubs.
  10. Got another to add to that as I agree with all those. Will Jaxon Wiggins take another step forward by improving his efficiency and throw more strikes to get that BB rate down?
  11. Welcome. Is being a fan of the Brewers and Cubs legal?
  12. Based on how it seems like the Cubs treat IFA prospects, Id guess no. Cabada is a maybe since his plate discipline seems to be somewhat advanced for his age, but I see June as a potential Myrtle Beach Assignment for both if everything is going well.
  13. Excited to see if Cabada can adjust quickly stateside this season. Got high hopes for him this season.
  14. im talking more a bench bat. A right handed OF would be ideal. Id like to see someone with some power there, Alcantara definetly fits the mold but hes still unknown.
  15. I like the roster as is but I kind of agree it feels one bat short. I think they will be looking to add one at the trade deadline though, not right now.
  16. Really like this signing. Great offseason Jed.
  17. Sure, I agree with that. Just saying his strategy seems to have been the right one in regards to that SS class.
  18. I thought it was pretty obvious that the Swanson contract has been a pretty good one so far. He's outperformed both Correa and Bogaerts and as much as I love Trea Turner, the backhalf of that contract when he loses his speed is gonna be brutal. Hoyer made the right choice there. Even though Swanson drives me insane at the plate sometimes.
  19. Yeah and the Cubs have zero of those guys because Hoyer focuses on bums who throw 92
  20. im hoping we trade one of Taillon or Shota in the offseason. Taillon isnt bad but hes overpaid and shota is very overrated, he just doesnt fit Wrigley as a fly ball pitcher. Id reinvent the rotation around Horton. We go Horton Boyd, Whoever doesnt get traded between Taillon and Shota, Steele (when he comes back) and fill in the 5th spot with a FA. Still a very mediocre rotation but its really our only option at the moment with how cheap and awful Hoyer is with pitching,
  21. i imagine hes on the exact same plan as Horton. If everything goes well I think we see him up in May
  22. Personally i think he should win but i wont be upset if he loses since we get that extra year. Drake Baldwin had been very good this year and is a catcher. He should win if it isnt Cade. Both have strong cases
  23. Killian is still in our system?
