    Law recently highlighted Pierce as a Cubs target too and that he's been hearing the Cubs around high school hitters a lot. Something to watch for.

    I'd be curious to know how the Cubs view Jace LaViolette right now. I know he's slipping due to the swing and miss issues, but the Cubs have been taking a lot of guys with power in recent years as their main tool. Our system needs more power prospects too imo.

    Its almost certainly starts at Horton, Shaw, Alcantara+. As good as Skenes is, I'm not sure I do that right now. Especially with the risk of injury that pitchers face. It's an interesting thought exercise though. I dont see Skenes getting moved for another couple years though since the Pirates are dumb to not cash in on him now while they have nothing.

    I mean that's fair. I can see why people would hate it right now. I'm a believer that he will return to form and yeah right now I am hesitant to give that up. 2 months from now we could be having a completely different convo though if he gets back to form and I think that particular package would be fair compensation. It doesnt really kill us depth wise either. I will admit it does hinge a little bit on Tucker resigning though.

    Yeah. I get where you're coming from. These next two months are going to be really interesting with him because if he even starts showing flashes again of what he was, I think there is going to be a bidding war for him.

    I'm guessing Hoyer would offer one of our OF (Alcantara/Cassie), a cost controlled pitcher (Wicks), maybe Triantos or Pedro Ramirez and a lottery ticket pitcher. That seems pretty fair to me. I dont think it crushes our depth too much. Idk maybe i'm completely off.

    I'm still a believer in Alcantara. I'm expecting him to have a stronger 2nd half hopefully. Based on a few articles I have read, it seems like GM's around the league are expecting it too. I would gladly make a trade for him still.

    I'm just dreaming on a rotation 2 years from now anchored by Horton and Wiggins. The next Wood-Prior combo please!

    Hope this is Horton's first dominant start. Love what I've seen so far from him. If I remember right, he was holding 97 into the 5th last start. Continue building that stamina. Loving his progress so far.

    Id like to see Brown moved to the bullpen. Not shutting the door on him starting but when Shota comes back I want Horton to stay in the rotation. Brown can really add another dynamic arm to the pen and still work on developing that command and 3rd pitch. They could also just keep him stretched out and piggy back him with Horton as well for innings management.

    Im confident Long's bat is going to play in the MLB. His ceiling will be determined by in game power and what he can play defensively.

    I brought him up a couple months back thinking he was a free agent at the end of the season. Im not too interested in him with two years left on that deal.

    Id trade Wicks before Wiggins to be honest. Wiggins has the frontline starter profile I love. Hes worth keeping imo.
