  1. Feels like Jed has a lot going on. Excited to see the outcome. The 3 team trade makes sense. Good to hear we are still battling for Alcantara. Plus you know Jed works in silence. No telling what all he has working right now. Should be an exciting few hours
  2. Would be a 3 team trade most likely as mentioned with Cubs, Padres, Guardians. Padres get Kwan, Cubs get Cease and Suarez, Guardians get prospects.
  3. Love yall but starting a thread and then locking it, then starting another TDL thread this morning for like an hour then locking it, then moving to another thread is annoying. I never know where to go on here to talk baseball. I’m scared to start a thread because I might get put in timeout if it’s in the wrong place lol. Just a minor complaint. Anyways back to the TDL talk
  4. I’m betting Jed lands one of Cabrera, Alcantara, Ryan, or Gore today plus Willi Castro. If that happens, then I’d say this deadline is a success. Id take a massive trade with Minnesota that lands us Ryan, Castro, and Jax lol
  5. Cerami is a goof ball but obviously has a friend in the FO. He always gets wind before others
  6. Seems light?
  7. Do you think Shaw forced Jed not to pay up for Suarez based on his play since the ASB, or do you think that had little effect and Jed just didn’t want to match / beat whatever Seattle offered? I know it’s hard to say without knowing the return yet, just curious your thoughts
  8. Seattle got Suraez. Ready to see the return
  9. Steven Matz to the Red Sox
  10. Don’t really see the appeal of adding Kittredge and Soroka to the pen. I guess if Kittredge replaces Pressly, then okay? Fine I guess. It’s fine. Doesn’t move the needle much, but pretty meh. He’s a solid dependable medium leverage reliever
  11. That’s true. It was a SSS of 50 games in A ball, but you’re right. Which is kind of why I said “they at least didn’t screw him up.” And agree with the rest. Elijah had major swing and miss concerns on draft day and they haven’t done anything with him.
  12. James Wood has developed well. Dylan Crews not so much. CJ Abrams hardly played in the minors with Washington. I agree with your point, just pointing out that they at least didn’t screw up James Wood
  13. He’s never played 162 games in a season either. He’s been on pace multiple years. I don’t think predicting 20/20 seasons on the regular over 162 games and above average defense at a premium position is a reach. I think it’s a very fair assessment of his potential.
  14. An above average defensive CF that’s likely a 20/20 guy most seasons would be a perennial 3+ WAR player. That’s extremely valuable. I think you’re severely underselling Alcantara and Caissie
  15. I know what Abel is ranked and Wiggins is freshly climbing the rankings, but I think Wiggins has much higher upside than Abel. I understand the point of the tweet… yes technically that would be the Cubs equivalent, but it’s not apples to apples
  16. Feels pretty even honestly. About what I would expect. A pretty solid upside SP and a toolsy A ball player. Nothing crazy but also potentially good haul.
  17. Alcantara and Wicks for Suarez seems stout man. I know it’s a sellers market, but I just can’t get there with how Shaw is playing. I’d rather just go get Castro, Jax, and a SP than Suarez if that’s the cost.
  18. New TDL article from Passan and Olney this morning. Very few Cubs mentions. One sentence of maybe Ryan or Cease if the Cubs “value the cost.” A slight Merril Kelly mention. Then a Shane Beiber mention as a possibility. That’s about it.
  19. There’s 100 ways to also look at this. I think if you’re talking about the next 10 years, nobody would choose Bellinger over Tucker over the next 10. And without getting Tucker in here this year, he may not have chose us in free agency had he just played out his final year in Houston. Maybe he goes to New York, Boston, LA, etc instead. I think having him play this season for us will be a major boost in his free agent decision though. I mean sure, he’s going to the highest bidder and might go elsewhere regardless, but I definitely think it helps him and us get to the point where he chooses to play here for 10 more years.
  20. Needed this from Brown today. Glad we didn’t have to cover 6+ innings with the pen
  21. Tucker is also 2 years younger and has a higher fWAR (4 to 3.3 for Belli). Kyle is also coming off an abysmal month of baseball. He’s sure to heat back up again and I imagine by end of season, it will be significantly better than Bellinger.
