  1. i didnt see it details plz
  2. OMG OMG OMG OMG rich hill! and i have tickets! HOORAY
  3. Wouldn't he have to clear waivers or something?
  4. I can't believe someone else has played Johnny Tackle! That was our tackling drill of choice in freshman football. It was so much fun. We used to call "Smear the Queer" by that name. I never knew why though.
  5. Your new favorite team is a team that's just one game better than the Cubs?? I've liked the A's for a while now. And I liked them even when they were horrible and the Cubs were pretending to be good earlier this year. They're just a lot more fun to watch. PLus, with the exception of some suspect usage patterns for Ricardo Rincon, they don't do amazing stupid things for no reason over and over again. It's quite refreshing. The A's will likely miss the playoffs, yes, but I really enjoy watching them play. I can't say the same thing for the Cubs.
  6. my new a's tshirt and hat arrived today im going to the a's game in chicago on sunday who plays for cobs again? i dont remember
  7. I'm about to blow your minds. We called this pickle/running bases game . . . wait for it . . . hot box. I'm not kidding. We played hot box, and it was awesome. We later had variations where you threw a big rubber ball instead of a baseball, so you could just throw the ball at people like in dodgeball. There would be days during recess where we'd be running in between two trees probably 60 feet apart, and we'd have at least 15 or 20 kids running back and forth between the trees (often more).
  8. If it were me, I wouldn't want my rival to keep a pitcher who's got a career 97-53 record, 1.25 WHIP, and 3.50 ERA, and is still only 30 years old. You missed the most important stat 11-3 career record vs the Cubs are you my friend doug? my friend doug has nothing but worthless stats like this. "MATTY MO! HE JUST KNOWS HOW TO WIN BALLGAMES. THAT'S ALL HE DOES! I LOVE HIS BEARD! DID YOU KNOW HIS WALKUP SONG IS "THE JOKER"?" HE'S 11-3 LIFETIME VS THE CUBS! THOSE ARE CLUTCH STARTS! HE EARNS HIS PAYCHECK! HEY DID YOU SEE BASEBALL TONIGHT LAST NIGHT? MAN JOHN KRUK CAN BE DUMB SOMTIMES, BUT HE'S USUALLY SPOT-ON, AND ALWAYS HILARIOUS! GOD I LOVE THAT SHOW." this might be the only post i've ever made where i dont exaggerate.
  9. At the beginning of the season, a different person lead the on-field, between inning activities at Chiefs games than the one who's there now. Where'd he go?
  10. That's one way of putting it. After the throw to first got away, the runner advanced from first to third. The count was 2-2, and the Chiefs elected to intentionally walk the hitter. The first intentional ball was thrown wildly and Bernard just barely got a glove on it. I'm actually surprised they gave him a pb for that, as he was actually jumping and reaching as he made contact with the ball with his glove. The best part was the moron next to me asking the people around him why the Chiefs would call for a pitchout in that situation.
  11. If soft hitter means guy who gets on base more than a third of the time, I have to disagree.
  12. Huh? Ichiro hit .353/.460/.522 over his career in Japan compared to .277/.333/.387 for Taguchi. no stats plz theyre killing his argument
  13. I traded Benitez two days before he got hurt.
  14. Exactly exactly exactly.
  15. hahahhaha jimy = cool
  16. Could the Cubs trade Dusty? Seriously. Would it be legal? How would other teams value him?
  17. 670 the score is also saying it's close. many rumors say Jose Conteras, a high prospect and a lower prospect and finally, george offman is saying theyre talking but NOT close. so who knows
  18. I watched the game. He was really good until he made the error in the 6th, then everything went all to hell. Uncharacteristic.
  19. I don't have any links, but I'm hearing from a number of people that various radio stations (including Sporting News Radio) that the Sox are close to dealing McCarthy and others to San Fran for Jason Schmidt. Anybody else hear anything? edit: i was slightly off. they never actually said mccarthy's name.
  20. lol i h8 sammy too lets rip him all the time
  21. 100 mph screwball that he can control with his mind
  22. So that doesn't mean he is better then Abreu now which was my point and there is no way Dunn is better right now. If you are trying to figure out a potential trade target, age is definately a factor. Dunn can certainly help the team this year but he can also improve for many more years if he is signed long term. He will probably be playing the game a lot longer than Abreu since there is a 6 year difference in age. miguel cabrera is younger Good idea. I have a trade proposal!!! rusch, mitre, welly, ice, koronka, piggy, pinto, wells, mathes, sing, dope, theroit, murton, dubois, patterson, 3 PTBNL, and 15 mil in cash for cabrera, pierre, and burnett west tenn + cash for cabrera and burnett if necessary, we could include the actual region of western tennessee in addition to the team
  23. i have some miller park pictures let me find them
  24. I think Ankiel will be back to the majors as an outfielder. I saw him play in a couple games, and just the way he attacks the ball when he swings sets him apart from pretty much everyone else I've seen this year in Peoria. ps- one of the new highlights of my life was when he was walking to the plate and i shouted that i saw him on espn classic the night before and that he really sucked there too. he gave me a dirty look.
