    pulling z early allows him to be in better shape for his next start AND marmol fresh is better than carlos having thrown 85 pitches he pulled z to go to a better pitcher, and allowed z to be in better shape for his next start. he accomplished two things at once, or at least he would have, if marmol hadn't sucked.

    the good news is the diamondbacks will have the common courtesy to stop stealing after the third inning, since it will be like 12-0

    i think it should be noted that, unless lou believes marmol is hurt or something, which he obviously doesn't since he made the move, he's going to a BETTER pitcher when he pulls zambrano. fresh marmol is definitely better than 7th inning Z, unless, again, you want to assume marmol is hurt and no longer himself or something. i think there was nothing wrong with the move.

    someone at bp (goldman?) was talking about this and basically said there's no way you're going to go get guys who play good d to replace the offense you're getting here, so you basically need to just get strikeout pitchers and score 850 runs a year easier said than done in regards to the strikeout pitchers, of course

    in fairness, it wasn't just a red light. he picked nevin out as one guy most likely to suffer a major injury and miss most or all of the season, and nevin was hurt a few days later. He separated his shoulder diving for a ball in the OF, unless Carroll had some sort of info leading him to think Nevin had a shoulder that couldn't handle diving on it, I'm not buying it. Nevermind the fact that he's crowing about something he predicted 4 years ago as evidence of don't you dare question the almighty Will I agree that Carroll is too pompous for his own (or anyone's) good, and that it's silly to still be bragging about this prediction.     Following him taking shots at the Sox he closed with Phil Nevin says hi! I'm not sure if it was an actual article or a blog entry or what. I had no clue what he was talking about. Someone at BTF pointed out that in his injury reports a few years back during spring training he gave Nevin a red light(high risk of injury). Nevin went on to get injured like a week later. Will Carroll is gloating about predicting that somebody has a high risk of getting injured 4 years ago. in fairness, it wasn't just a red light. he picked nevin out as one guy most likely to suffer a major injury and miss most or all of the season, and nevin was hurt a few days later.

    Or when we are losing 11-0 in the 3rd game after losing the first 2. Imagine how well Bartman would be received in Wrigley. ooh thatd be even better "HEY IT'S THAT GUY WHO SOAP DROPPED THINGS UP LAST TIME"

    Went with my brother to eat that night and heard about the game the next day. I've made it very clear that we didn't charge the field in the first game but merely walked on and congratulated the team. why did you fail to attend? surely no evening meal with a mere brother could taste as sweet as the glory that is a real Football game
