  2. .323 obp is an awfully big hole to dig yourself out of. i don't think dawson does it. i'll add that i'm not really willing to give him any extra credit for losing his legs due to olympic stadium. it sucks that it happened, but it did.
  3. this is like executive decision and i get on the plane and you guys are steven seagal and you die in the first ten minutes
  4. marcel has got to be one of the worst, though. it's not impressive at all to say your system is accurate when you just predict everyone in the league is going to be mediocre. it's the crazy stuff (on both ends) that makes a projection system interesting. marcel is not interesting.
  5. when mcnabb's leg falls off later this season, i'm sure we'll return the favor Just post the celebration pics when the Cowboys win a playoff game or 2 like they usually do. that's been the plan for 12 years i'm startin to get blue balls plus, we're emulating truffle here, so i can only celebrate when someone else's team loses IMB did not see what I did there. no i get it, we haven't won a playoff game since i was like, 8. hence the 12 year plan thing. Be more offended and angry. Don't roll with the punches jerk. i thought you got b& after that fight with 1908, what happened?
  6. Really, now? if he's not a reliever, it's probable that he'll start the season in the minors. whether he does that at AA or AAA will just depend on the Cubs' discretion and mindset, it hardly makes a difference.

  8. oh look the cowboys caught a break
  9. this game is a joke. the cowboys are beyond fortunate.

  12. why on earth do you need to let stuff like this out? i mean, it's not like there was going to be an uproar when the cubs traded this guy for nothing anyway. stupid cub fans hate him already.
  13. hey guys i have a great idea i'm going to go fight this cop

  16. if we lose tonight, my game 3 uniform is going to be a body bag
  17. unbuttoned cubs jersey (no name on back), peoria chiefs tshirt from the late 80s, khaki shorts, black new balances may add a hat before going out to the bar. we'll see how i feel.
  18. Hardly surprising. Earlier this week Mendenahall sent a text message to Ray Rice about how he was gonna explode in his first start. Ravens' LB Bart Scott responded by saying "Thanks for the bulletin-board material, rookie." Guess next time Rashard shouldn't write checks his behind can't cash. did bart scott tape his blackberry to the bulletin board? does he have a little receipt printer that he hooks up to his iphone to make hard copies of all of his important text messages?
  19. ryan braun is a lot better when he hits .450/.516/.964 for the season against lhp.
  20. They are practically the same player. I mean Ludwick was a high school kid drafted in the 2nd round and made it to the majors by age 23. Huffpauir was a college guy drafted in the 13th round and made his major league debut at age 28. Even so, Ludwick isn't going to repeat these flukish numbers ever again. But, then again neither will Huffpauir. So, maybe they are alike. Wasnt Ludwick once considered a top prospect though? I dont think the same can be said for Hoff. I think that was his point, he was being sarcastic. You guys keep believing that guys like Ludwick and Carlos Pena are the norm for 28 year old career minor leaguers. Cub fans are the single most over-reactive fan base in America. Matt Murton had 7 homers in 140 at bats his first cup of coffee, so of course, Cub fans had him pegged to be a 30 homer a year player. Hoff does great in a VERY small sample size and fans are already handing over an everyday job to him for next year. He's probably good enough to be the #1 pinch hitter on a NL team or a DH on a bad AL team, but that's about it. To expect anything more would be....well, that'd be typical of most Cub fans I guess... the "cubs fans are too optimistic and expect amazing things from all their players" angle is not one that will likely ring true here.
  21. you guys are all wrong, ernie bank's can do whatever the hell he wants
  22. this is one of the worst arguments you make on a regular basis, and that's really, really saying something.
  23. I had been planning on taking a personal day or two coming up, but I don't think I could pull both wednesday and thursday off without people pissing and moaning. 1:30 is just ridiculous. the 3pm one is at least sort of passable, as it's toward the end of a workday. EDIT: Those times were EDT. That start is 12:30 central, which is dumber than making Frostwyrm Obama's bodyguard. this is a disaster as far as i'm concerned. jesus christ.
