everyone is so happy with the team that attendance is the lowest in fifteen years, we can't find anyone who wants to bother putting the games on the radio, and wgn is going to broadcast games on tv in 2015 despite paying the cubs in corner gas dvds. MASTER TACTICIAN

one of my high school baseball coaches played in the minor leagues and was in spring training with maddux one year. he claimed that maddux told everyone that at one point before signing with the braves, he and the cubs came to terms on a deal only to have the cubs call him like an hour before he was supposed to come over and sign the contract that they had changed their minds and the offer was off the table. my coach was kind of a weirdo though so this might not be true.

the cubs current tv deal gives them 600k a game? According to the article below it's even less, though Brett admits it's not verified but rumored. They get $300k a game from WGN and $500k a game from Comcast. http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/01/03/another-team-gets-its-enormous-tv-contract-the-phillies/ yeah, that's more along the lines of what i was thinking.

If we get Tanaka and keep Shark, I challenge you to explain how it could possibly be worse. We lose little from the offense and should get better without adding much from the outside. Starlin and Rizzo should rebound/improve, and we likely get 1/2 a season of Baez and other incremental gains. The bullpen is a lot stronger than it was to start last year. The rotation has taken a hit, for certain. But adding Tanaka would make up that gap pretty easily. If, and it is a big honking if, we add Tanaka, I believe we'll get to see interesting baseball in the late summer in a while. I'll be stunned if they get Tanaka. I don't think it's realistic to expect they land him; I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it. The offense was just rank last year, and they haven't don't much to improve it. It's basically hinged on praying that Castro and Rizzo rebound and that Baez both shows up and is good. Those are some pretty big if's; I really like Baez, but it's hardly unlikely that he shows up and struggles. on the whole, isn't it considerably more likely that baez is mediocre or worse in aaa and spends the whole season there than he comes up to the majors and is good enough to have a real impact on the team? -

how on earth would the posting package deal work? once he's posted and every team bids 20 million dollars, can the japanese team really just say NOPE JUST KIDDING HE'S UNPOSTED UNLESS YOU ALSO BID FIFTEEN MILLION FOR THE BATBOY? and if not, what incentive would any team have to actually follow through on their stupid demands? and why shouldn't selig step in and say this isn't the deal we agreed to and veto any obviously bogus posting fees? none of this makes any sense.

speaking of "aka, please" i would also like a thesaurus for christmas so i can learn new words to use when being politte You can often find a thesaurus in tandem with a dictionary. That way you'll know when you spell polite wrong... actually, i was setting myself up for "speaking of politte, let's sign tanaka because he's going to be even better than cliff" follow-up, but then a co-worker came in and i had to look busy and talk to her about work. it was terrible. That is terrible. Terrible news indeed. Maybe a coffee break is in order. EVEN BETTER i'm going to go hide in the bathroom for a while. see you guys later!
