  1. Could you shoot me links for those and I'll get that forum back up and running? Thanks!
  2. This may have been accidentally merged into another forum. Everything got chaotic for awhile there and every forum was duplicated. I may have merged both event forums by mistake. We can absolutely bring this forum back but will need to find some of the old threads and put them back into it.
  3. Here are my personal notification settings. If you go to Mentions & My Content section, I have reactions notifications turned off entirely. They're super annoying. I have all email notifications disabled, I also find those annoying. https://northsidebaseball.com/notifications/options/
  4. This problem has been nagging at me for months now. It's on the list of things to fix, I just never get around to it. Hopefully early in the season I'll be able to properly address it.
  5. I can't really say why publicly but for the time being, this needs to stay this way but it does not need to be this way after a few weeks.
  6. First, the forums. All posts from 2006 onward should now be accessible, though quite a bit of rearranging has been done to clean up redundant forums that were mostly idle. There will continue to be fine-tuning of this stuff but some consolidation needed to be done, particularly after merging the 2006-2015 forums with the 2016-present forums. But there are a ton of new features in the forums. You can check out the Activity Stream, which is a customizable version of the old active topics page. There are additional reactions and in the coming days, you’ll see achievements and ranks added to your profile pages. Should you so desire, you can customize your profile page quite a bit, as well. There is a really useful follow function on the site. You can follow specific content, types of content, and individual users. We also have a new ignore function and other smaller functions that allow you to better tailor your site experience to your liking. Currently, there is an icon issue that is affecting many users. If you’re seeing a bunch of empty squares around your page, that’s an error. I’m working to resolve it. It makes navigating the site a lot more difficult and I apologize for that. And, course, there is the new front page news section, headlined by Matt Trueblood but we have many more writers coming on board in the near future. In the next week or two, advertising will return to the site and along with it, Cubs video analysis. Interested in trying your own hand at writing about the Cubs? I encourage you to take a look at the new user blogs section, where you can write longer-form pieces that will reach hundreds of Cubs fans every day. It’s very easy to use and a great way to exercise your writing chops. In the coming weeks, here are some additional features coming our way: Active & 40-man rosters, updated daily Top prospect rankings with stats updated daily A free agent and trade rumors section 2023 Cubs draft tracker Something that will really help us out is social media follows and likes. If you’re a Facebook user, like our page. If you’re a Twitter person, here’s the NSBB account. As always, if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, feel free to share them! This is a work in progress and it will take some time to sort out some of the smaller issues and tailor the new system to this particular community.

  8. While I'm not positive yet, I think this is part of the indexing situation with the server.
  9. One of the options in the list should be "since last visit". The navigation on that sucks right now because a bunch of users aren't being delivered the proper icons in the menu. I'm working on it.
  10. Nope. We'll fiddle around with the exact numbers but only older, established users will be able to access that portion of the site. @grassbass @Brian707 @javy knows my name I manually added you to the group. I'm not going to mess around with the group promotions anymore until the system finishes indexing posts, that may be the root of the issue here.
  11. There's a usergroup called Old Timey Members and they're the only people who can see it. If you're not already in that group, I must not have the group promotion set up correctly. I'll manually move you now and figure out what is going on.
  12. This is a pleasant surprise. I guess the system heard my incessant whining and responded by processing my backlog of requests. After nearly having a heart attack after thinking the social/rant forums post-2015 were gone, they have appeared exactly where I wanted them. So I moved some stuff around a bit. If you can't see anything you previously used, it's probably an error on my part and I need to flip some switches. Let me know if you're still having issues.
  13. By the way, the stream should work quite a bit better whenever I can get this damned icon issue sorted. Everything makes a lot more sense when the page isn't covered by empty boxes.
  14. Seth is our prospect guru over at Twins Daily and he's been doing it forever. His connections with various players, personnel, and organizations runs deep so while he probably won't be a regular contributor over here, expect to see the occasional interview and/or prospect piece from him.
  15. Given the options, I don't see a reason to declare a closer when it'll probably sort itself out organically over the first few weeks of the season.
  16. Yep, fixed now. There were some import conflicts, it's the result of merging the two forums back together.
  17. Sorry, no, not yet. Within the next couple of days.
  18. Nope, there are a bunch of forums and posts being held hostage by the system as the server indexes several million posts. Over the next 24-36 hours, you'll see forums reappear and shuffle around a bit.
  19. Not yet, I need to finish letting the system indexing so that I can tear out the Twins/Brewers badges and replace them with Cubs-specific badges, then I need to rebuild all posts again. Maybe a week or so until all that is done? It's a super-long process to get through.
  20. I *think* they do but I'm not sure. We'll know for sure by EoD tomorrow.
  21. This number might change, the system is still sorting a bunch of stuff.
