  1. Oh, without a doubt the RD is more telling than any single series. I think the most important aspect of the Yankees series is that the Cubs just need to start rattling off Ws or that run differential isn't going to matter.
  2. Do you know how to get in contact with this person? I see their Twitter is locked, anyone have an in there?
  3. You mean just a draft overview page with all relevant information such as dates, times, etc? That's a good idea, I'll add it to the list.
  4. We do multiple threads for a couple of reasons: 1. It makes it more accessible to users who aren't hammering the refresh button all day long (sorry you goons, other people exist, too) 😃 2. It helps drive up author page counts, which means we pay them more because our payment methods are based on views
  5. I get what you're saying - and you're not really wrong - but this division is weak and it's early enough that the trade market hasn't materialized yet anyway. The Cubs aren't missing anything by punting on a decision today while the team still has a chance to move back into contention. In essence, wins are good and it's not hurting anything to stay neutral in the trade market for the time being, given that the trade market doesn't really exist yet.
  6. What are you all thinking of our draft coverage so far this year? Any comments on the tracker or things that could be improved?
  7. Six unanswered runs to beat the Yankees in New York and win the series. Nice.
  8. That's definitely possible, though I think it better serves the Cubs to take what prospects they can get and rebuild in the offseason.
  9. I don't want to officially give up on the Cubs quite yet but it sure feels like Hendricks is auditioning for other teams right now.
  10. A really early start today. The Cubs surprisingly received an excellent performance from Taillon last night, more of the same would be welcome from Smyly. Fun fact: the Cubs helped knock the Yankees out of the final Wild Card position last night.
  11. Nice win, didn't see Taillon shutting down the Yankees like that.
  12. I know others feel differently but I'm often relieved when players bow out of the ASG, particularly pitchers.
  13. Beat the damned Yankees. Carlos Rodon makes his first start of the year so who knows what to expect from him?
  14. Kinda seems like a stretch but teams will pick up almost any reliever at the deadline in hopes of squeezing 25 good innings out of them down the stretch.
  15. Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors compiled an early July top 50 trade candidates list and the Cubs have two players in the top 11 and five players in the top 50 overall.* *obviously, this assumes the Cubs will in fact be selling at the deadline Marcus Stroman and Cody Bellinger lead the Cubs' portion of the list but Michael Fulmer, Yan Gomes, and Kyle Hendricks also make the list. The Cubs have compelling pieces that other teams will want to acquire, how aggressively should they sell if it comes to that point?

  17. The Padres marketing team is getting desperate.
  18. It's a big help if you follow our accounts and share stuff you find interesting (assuming your blackened soul is still capable of joy and sharing). Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NorthSideCubs/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/northsidebaseb
  19. What a ridiculous series this has been. Somehow, the Cubs are in a position to win this series with their co-ace on the mound against a struggling Freddy Peralta.
